More on Gibbs to Toyota..done deal?; Busch to JGR; Yeley? HOF to RCR engines? UPDATE 3: hearing the decision has been made and that Joe Gibbs Racing [#11, #18, #20] will switch from Chevrolet to Toyota in 2008 and the announcement should come in early September.(8-6-2007)
AND: Joe Gibbs Racing still hasn’t announced whether it will switch to Toyotas next year, but the buzz is that it will. Some clues? Tony Stewart’s souvenir trailers were selling merchandise at 50% off regular price last week at the Brickyard, Stewart’s home track and a place where the Hoosier native is wildly popular. Also, a source at Richard Childress Racing said it has been approached by Hall of Fame Racing, a satellite Gibbs team, about buying engines from the newly merged RCR-Dale Earnhardt Inc., engine operation in 2008. Presumably, HOF is hedging its bets, if it ends up not being part of a Gibbs move to Toyota.(Ford Racing)(8-6-2007)
UPDATE 2: Kyle Busch has finally decided where he will race next season, agreeing to a deal to drive the #18 Interstate Batteries machine for Joe Gibbs Racing in 2008 and beyond. Busch will replace J.J. Yeley, who will move to Wood Brothers/JTG Racing next season to steer the #21 Ford. Busch made his decision after recently narrowing the field to three teams; Gibbs, Dale Earnhardt, Inc., and Evernham Motorsports. An official announcement is expected within the next 2-3 weeks.
In addition, JGR will jump from Chevrolet to the Toyota camp beginning in 2008, joining Michael Waltrip Racing, Bill Davis Racing and Team Red Bull on the list of teams running Toyota Camrys. Neither Busch nor JGR have made any official comment on the move, but Gibbs officials have already informed Hall of Fame Racing that they will not continue to provide the team with engines next season, prompting Hall Of Fame to contact Richard Childress Racing about a similar engine-supply deal for 2008.(Motorsports Soapbox)(8-6-2007)
UPDATE 3: Hall of Fame Racing officials have not been told by Joe Gibbs Racing that JGR will not provide the HOF with engines next season, nor have HOF officials contacted RCR.(8-6-2007)

If Tony can't get along with Denny how do you think him and Kyle will get along? Can anyone say cat fight?

So is Busch doing the same thing to Yeley that he was so sour about Earnhardt doing to him?

I think I'll wait till the water's much clearer and it comes in the form of an official announcement from JGR and Kyle Busch. ;)

well, it just went across the ticker, not sure which channel it was, think msnbc? idk.

AP is reporting it, also

Kyle Busch to Drive for Joe Gibbs Racing: Kyle Busch chose to drive for Joe Gibbs Racing next season and began informing other teams Monday of his decision. A source close to Busch told The Associated Press that the driver had selected Gibbs after a seven-week search that began when Hendrick Motorsports released the 22-year-old driver to make room for Dale Earnhardt Jr. next season. The source requested anonymity because the deal was not finalized. "Kyle has made his decision and is in the process of informing the teams of his preference," said Jeff Dickerson, who represents Busch through Motorsports Management International. "As there are many details that still need to be worked out, Kyle will not be making that decision public at this time." Two car owners who had actively pursued Busch told the AP that the driver informed them Monday he had not selected their teams. They requested anonymity because they didn't reveal Busch's selection.(Associated Press)(8-6-2007)

LOL oh poor kyle baby is nobody helping him out?

he must want to kill whoever took that pic.

As I see it Kenny Shrader is the one who ends up being shafted.

I'm not at all impressed with the Wood Bros.

Hmmm... wonder what Tony and Kyle are going to think about driving Toyotas?

This is conjecture at this point, JGR going to Toyota needs more confirmation than Jayski as far as i'm concerned. As for Kyle going to JGR that is a fact it was on Nascar ESPN last night, doesn't surprise me as Gibbs wants a powerhouse team like Hendrick. What will be interesting is if Coach can really devote the time it will require to manage all the over inflated egos he he will have under his garage roof. Tony is bad enough, but add two young guys in Hamlin and Busch into the mix....there will sure to be fireworks throughout the season. The young guys might look to Tony as their mentor , but as we know Hamlin already doesn't think too much of Smoke. Tony IMO opinion likes to hear himself talk, as in blows a lot of Smoke. I know that isn't why he got his nickname , but it should be. Anyway if Gibbs can make this work he will indeed have quite a formidable line up.

It's official: Kyle Busch to replace JJ Yeley at Gibbs

Gibbs confirmed to local radio station DC101. Rumor mill done, it's a done deal.

tony and kyle should easily top rusty and newman as odd team mates. the coach sure has his work cut out for him.

Anybody know when Tony and Hamlins contracts are up? I don't see all three guys getting along that well.

for Denny.

1. Gibbs to Toyota isn't such a stretch. Remember when they ran Pontiac's instead of Chevy's so that the could be the big fish in the little pond? That what makes that story seem believeable.

2. I'm sure Norm Miller is having a dying duck fit to think that his Christian run & owned company is going to be represented by such a heathen spoiled brat as Kyle Busch. Maybe they'll baptise him in the off season. Hold him under until he really repents.

3. Unless they get rid of Steve Addington off of the 18 team, it will probably never see victory lane.

kyle burned his own bridge at hendrick, jr. just happend to be at the right place at the right time.

Exactly. I never heard Kyle have any beef with Junior. I never heard Kyle say that he was sour at Junior for coming in and taking his ride.

The initial comment was that Kyle was "doing the same thing to Yeley that he was sour at Junior for doing" and that simply isn't true.

Kyle said he was disappointed with HMS. He wanted to stay. He was sorry that things didn't work out. But I never heard anything about him being sour at Junior for taking his ride. He was disappointed with Rick that things didn't work out, but that's about it - that I recall.

Remember when Kyle left the track and his crew was frantically working to repair his car? I think that was one of the things that sealed Kyle's fate at HMS.

From what I'm hearing, it's pretty much just a rumor about going to Toyotas. Plus, I heard Tony is hooked into contract to drive a Chevy through next season.

I hope so. I have no problem with Toyota being in Cup. But I think it would be a big mistake for one of the big Chevy teams to go to Toyota.
