I know this has been broached before, but that is just a very nice little short track. Every NASCAR race that has been held there has been very good. And to top it off, despite having a listed seating capacity of 25,000...each Nationwide race has had 56,000+ attendance.

If there is one tract that deserves a Cup date, it was Iowa.

What is the name of the track?

Yep. They get good crowds for everything.

I think an early June date, racing at night under lights, would be quite awesome at Iowa.

Iowa has more race tracks per capita than any state. Just about every thing circle track races in iowa except cup. If you do it right some weeks in the summer you can race 7 nights a week if you wanted to. I know a couple guys that race 4 on a fairly weekly basis.

Another short track that could have used a date was Memphis. Last I heard though was that the owners closed or sold the track. This track was almost a carbon copy of Richmond.

Memphis was sold and is opening back up this year. I think it might have even gotten some renovations IIRC.

Gateway closing was an epic shame. Hopefully it finds a buyer.
