CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Nov. 9, 2010) – NASCAR announced today that it has reached an exclusive agreement with Phyzix Synthetics, a division of Phyzix Automotive, to manufacture and distribute a line of NASCAR-licensed professional automobile maintenance fluids that will be designated as the No. 1 Professional Maintenance Fluid of NASCAR.

Who???? so money makes them #1??

Mag, where have you been? It's always been that way that the biggest sponsor has the right to say they are the "official" product of whomever they are giving the money to. Blue Cross Blue Shield is the official insurance of North Carolina State University, etc. Verizon is the official cell phone of Jakarta State. Don't be so naive to think that everyone chooses the best product.

You guys are right no! Companies pay BIG bucks to be the "official fuel of Nascar", the "official drink of the NFL" etc...has nothing to do with the product, just needs to have the money to get that endorsement.

I think mag's point was....who???? Who the hell is this company? I know I've never heard of them.

Wonder if they also have another exclusivity contract...

That was my take also, never heard of this company.

wth is this? seems like it *might* conflict with some team sponsors such as mobil, shell, etc.... are we going to have a replay of *sprint* forcing teams to abandon established sponsors?

There are a whole bunch of so called 'Official Sponsor's' in NASCAR. Outside of the series sponsor I don't know of any sponsorship conflicts. This seems to be yet another company to add to the list. Nothing more than that. Here is the most complete list of the '2010 Official Sponsors of NASCAR'.....

Greedy bastards. Anything to make more money.

Interesting comment.
I wonder, if Bobby Ford (or anyone else) were owner/ceo of a corporation similar to NASCAR that sold an endorsement for big bucks, knowing full well it would increase profits, would that would make him/them a greedy bastard too? ;)

Or does this only apply when it is NASCAR seizing the opportunity to increase the bottom line. Isn't that the American way? After all, it is capitalism or is capitalism no wrong when it is NASCAR making the money.

I doubt seriously that any of those who urinate and make guttural sounds whenever they see NASCAR make a sound business decision, one that costs fans or stockholders nothing, would pass up any legitimate opportunity to increase profits.

Well, maybe one person.:D

Given enough $$$ Na$car would change the name from Sprint to "da Whizzer Cup" in a heartbeat.

:beerbang::D

Another :bsflag: remark. Is there no end...

Yeah, you're right, they NEED to increase profits on a 6 billion dollar a year industry...

I know only of one sure way to effect Nascar's profits and I think we all know what that is.

Craftsman???? I thought Brian France was the Official Tool of NASCAR.

Yeah, you're right, they NEED to increase profits on a 6 billion dollar a year industry...

I don't understand why it's being questioned about NASCAR trying to increase profits? That's their job and responsibility to share holders. What kind of idiot owns, runs or works for a business and decides "Well we've made enough money, time to stop trying to do more that's good enough."? Your saying you wouldn't try to increase profits of your business?

If I was as fat as the fat cats of NASCAR I'd think I'd be ok.
Just out of curiosity, are you satisfied with what you make? Would you take a cut in pay or a raise if one was offered? Would you like to hit the lottery? I know there are a few people in this country who would say no to all of these questions, but they are few and far in between. I don't know you, but I'd bet you aren't one of those few. Maybe, I don't know but one thing I do know is that most people in this country and abroad want to increase their income. It seems to me that what you have is class envy. I know there are a few here that would wish a limit on what anyone can make, but even those socialist wouldn't refuse a pay raise. If you dislike NASCAR so much and wish them to fail, just do something about it. No one is making you give one red cent to the Frances or the stockholders of NASCAR.

Bullsht. Complacency equals bankruptcy.

Your fired.

That is the truth. I can't tell you how many times I have come up with new and innovative ways to run my business or to improve it. The only way to stay ahead of the game is to keep moving.

Actually, yes, I am happy with what I make. I get a raise every year. I have job security. My mortgage payment is 1/5 of my monthly income. I have an 800+ FICO. I have no debt except for my car which I could pay off if I wanted to, but at 2% financing I'd rather have the cash in my pocket. I have no dependants. As I see it I'm already rich.

Hold up dude, no need to throw all that out there thats nobodies business but that's great, not many people can say that these days. The point is though, if you ran your own business you would think completely different. You can't fault NASCAR or any other business for trying to generate more profit (the exception, of course, are the oil companies that have the world by the short and curlys and should all die a miserable death but that's another subject for another day).

Dude?
Yes I can fault someone if I feel that they are greedy.

Agree 100%! Can't tell you how many times we started a new business, improved and/or expanded our businesses. All of which were necessary to stay competitive and improve the bottom line.
Complacency, whether in life or business, leads to mediocrity and stagnation.
Neither being very admirable attributes.
