GM is asking NASCAR to change the fuel used in the series to ethanol. NASCAR is just now changed to using unleaded fuel, long after the rest of the country made the switch, so in my thinking, switching to ethanol, or a blend will be a long time in the future. NASCAR says that they have yet to see a proposal from GM, but making a switch would require lots of changes. NASCAR does not want a larger fuel tank, something that would be needed unless because of the less fuel efficiency, and they would need probably at least three times as many pit stops with the size of tank being used now. Other changes required would be swapping out parts to stainless steel because ethanol is organic and very corrosive.

Why? There is no need to switch over, it isn't economical, or efficient so i can't see Nascar doing this for a long time or ever for that matter. This entire ethanol subject is a joke IMO, it is not accomplishing anything, but making a few farmers rich.

IF the Busch series becomes the KFC series, they can use the fry grease!
