I got 8 seats for me and my friends for Saturday and Sunday :D
On Sunday, the train picks us up less than a mile from my house and drops us off at the track.
Should be a fun filled weekend.
I think their going to have the seals in the tank at the track again this year. You pay for a photo with the seals and you get to toss them a frisbee and a ball a few times, pet them and then get a picture of them kissing you on the cheek. Pretty cool.

Have a great time BobbyFord. We went to this springs race but won't be going this fall, DL and her meds. just can't do that kind of heat any longer.

Some people love the train, we took it one year and I hated it because it leaves at a set time if the race is over or not, and we had to leave our seats with 25 to go to make the train. Besides, living near the mouse house we were always home in less than 1 hour from the time the race ended so I never considered driving a problem.

I would rather go to Sonoma. California's a boring race everytime on TV.

It seems everytime there is potential for a great finish, something takes Harvick out.

Eagle1, they changed the train departure times. The train now leaves 1 hour after the checkered flag :)

We chose the Sept. race because the Busch race starts a 7 p.m. and the Cup race starts at 5 p.m. We will still be wearing the sunscreen and hats. Hopefully it won't be too hot by green flag time. I'll take lots of pictures and maybe someone can show me how to post some of them :)

Have a good time Bobby....wish I were there. Maybe next year.
A guy from work...a fellow Air New Zealander will be at the race. He's flying up from NZ tonight.
And they now have a BassPro shop in Rancho Cocamunga now, right near Fontana :beerbang:
Gotta pop in there and grab some fishing tackle

Have fun Bobby and hey give a yell to my boy please...

I'll holler at Jeffy for sure. Although he's not my driver, he is arguably the best in the sport and I'm not disappointed when my guy gets outshined by the likes of Jeff Gordon.

Thanks, Clutch, hope to maybe see you there next year.

Y'all know how it is the weekend of the race that you've had tickets for a year in advance...
I can't wait. A lot of people do not like California Speedway races because the huge, wide track lends itself to long green flag runs. I just love being there.
When I was a kid we had Riverside and Ontario. Now I have California Speedway. I think I'm still as excited about going to the races and seeing my heroes as I was as a small boy.
This will be the first year that my dad won't be here. I s'pose he might have a better seat than me this year...

Well I could handle the train then, I was sure upset cause we had to leave while the race was going on.

Looking forward to your report. :)

The temperature above the asphalt was about 109 yesterday when I unloaded my show car at the speedway. My truck was showing 114 when I was standing still for awhile.

They are talking about temps in the 106 degree range for today and tomorrow with heat indexes around 112. Fortunately, our hospitality tent has a/c otherwise I doubt that I would stay there the whole day.

Once the race starts on Sunday, I pack up and head east. Can't wait to get out of this hellhole. It was cooler in the desert when I drove through yesterday than when I got here.

We're in Anaheim and are usually 6-8 degrees cooler than Ontario / Fontana area and we were 104 today for a high and right now at almost 6:30pm it is still 101 here. Because of DL's heath and the medications she takes we just can't go out in that heat for the whole day.
