Going to the All Star Race

Well, MaBelle left with her family today to go to the all star weekend races and festivities. While I must admit I was going with her, I think I'll miss HER more than I'll miss out on going to the race. I sent her, armed with a list of drivers to get signatures from, off today around sixish. I suppose it may have been a good thing that I didn't go, considering she is there with all (extended) of her family who all root for various drivers religiously. I'd have been the lone Robby Gordon fan in the midst of Jeff Gordons, Dale Jarretts, Steve Parks, Ryan Newmans, Dale Juniors, Scott Riggses, and fans of others too. Regardless, I'm basically writing this because this'll be the first weekend we've spent apart since we've been together. Of course, it shouldn't be too hard to spot her on the tv, she'll be the one wearing red...anyone else going? Anyone else been? what's it like?
 
I went last year and had a blast. There was a certain intensity to race the way it was done in past (with eliminations after each segment.)

I had a blast the whole weekend. The truck race on Firday night was a good race as well.

Had a friend camping near the track and based myself out of there all weekend.

Charlotte is a gorgeous city. If you've never been, it is worth the trip.
 
oh, i couldn't go because they had their tickets way in advance, and couldn't have gotten anywhere near them...oh well...next year I guess...but I hope to go to the July Busch Race in Nashville, also maybe the atlanta and bristol races...

The Nashville Bush race is June 12th and Kentucky is June 19th

I might be going to the Nashville race! :bounce:
 
I'm going!! WOOO HOOO!!! Leaving Friday night and will be back sometime Sunday, so I'll have to put up a review when I get back. You guys take care!
