Goings on at Darlington

Looks better weather wise this morning.

Truckseries is good enough to do their trackside feature for the BGN folks too.

What's happening this morning?

Good morning from Darlington Raceway! The skies are gray and cloudy, and there is a 40% chance of showers, but it looks like whatever weather we will get will move in after the checkered flag waves on the Craftsman 200 this evening.

NASCAR Busch Series practice has just gotten underway, and in the early moments Truck Series grads are having their way with the field. Last season's NCTS champion Mike Bliss is at the top of the chart, with Scott Riggs right behind. Two-time series champion Ron Hornaday is ninth, and Stacy Compton is currently 12th. (9:52 am ET)

Riggs has just got up into the wall, glazing a fresh Darlington stripe on his ride and bringing a stop to Busch Series practice. (10:15 am ET)

BGN Happy Hour is over.

The top five in Happy Hour were Mike Bliss, Scott Riggs, Randy LaJoie, Scott Wimmer, and Ashton Lewis

Around 20 minutes into WC practice, Sadler leads the session at 168.792.

What is Bill Elliott doing, good grief!

WC pratice is over, final times should be up soon.

Couple of little tidbits for the Truck Series race today:

The forecast for the race remains unchanged. There is a 40% chance of rain, and if and when it arrives, it should be here between 6 and 8 pm ET. NASCAR has alerted the teams that there will be a shortened pre-race ceremony, and the green flag will fly just at 4 pm ET. (12:31 pm ET)

When Teri MacDonald and Tina Gordon cross the start/finish line to take the green flag for the Craftsman 200, they will make history. It will become the first time in series history that two female drivers have been in the same starting field since the series' inception in 1995. (12:26 pm ET)

If the trucks that Gordon pilots look like they are familiar, it is because they are. The blue color has been unchanged since last year when Carlos Contreras drove them for Petty Enterprises. (12:29 pm ET)

I am so glad PE shut down the truck team!! I do think they need to feild a full time BGN car for CF so it could help the Cup teams on sunday!!
Also a plus is that the teams that bought the old PE trucks got good trucks( PE just had a bad driver the last 2 years)

I guess the same applies to Kyle Petty and John Andretti.

OK I ment in the truck series!!! But you got me!! I will admit in sayin g that John and Kyle are not the best but I like Kyle no matter if he would be driving a soap box car down the banks
