I am a Gamecock fan, but my interaction with Tennessee Volunteer Alumni, or just their fans has always been great.
One of them even allowed me to spend a night at their home during my college days.
If we are going to lose one, I prefer losing to Tennessee.

I was in Nashville over the weekend and talked some great football. If the Titans would have won, I think the town would have ben burnt down.
