Nice job Burney , you got a former drunk and drug addict with two kids that has been in and out of rehab since she was 18 . I give it two years tops.
 
Gosh Multi, that's a little harsh don't you think? I guess you don't think that people can change in their lives. Sure am glad that you don't know much about my background or you'd swear that I would be in prison from what I did in my youth. Maybe this marriage just might be what the girl needed to keep her straight.
 
I agree Buck, people do change. Maybe this girl has grown up and straightened out her life. Let's give her the benefit of the doubt till she proves otherwise.

Fair enough Buck but she is well into her 30s and hardly a kid . This is a woman who because of her good looks has escaped allot of critisism over the years . Her first marriage lasted about a year to a college football player from Utah state who was reportedly pretty strait laced and dumped her when her blow habit got out of hand (thats where the kids came from ). Then for several years she is the subject of many page six blind item reports of having to be hospitalized for exhaustion wink wink read rehab. When she finally does a face plant during a modelling shoot in front of photographers and they put her in rehab for what they call pain killer addiction , having an addiction to prescription drugs sounds much better then being put there for being a coke head . She gets out of rehab and shortly there after she is riding around with a guy that has several convictions for coke at 4 am in Atlanta when they crash the car and she is almost killed . The police do no toxicology tests on either of them and the driver claims he crashed trying to answer his cell phone (yaa right). Her next love interest is Keith Urban a well known tea totaler (isnt he still in rehab?) During her 3 or so years with him their binges and fights are fodder for the gossip mill in the country music industry . Next she hooks up with Burney Lamar and after what 4 months or so they are doing the quicky wedding thing ?

I stand by what I said this marriage wont last and if I am NASCAR I am putting Burney on the Shane Hmeil plan .
 
Looks like you've studied this girl for some time. People can and do change, but of course, with a past like that, I'm sure there will be more than an occasional check to see if things are going ok. It's never too late to grow up though and only time will tell. I still wish them all the luck in the world, especially for the boys.

The boys can be the big winners here.. I can see em now hanging on the fence watching their new dad go round and round!! I wish THEM the best. Eleven year old boys are at the peak of their vulnerability They need all the help they can get at this time. The grown-ups in this marriage don't matter a whit at this time.

Back around when she was in her teens and just becoming famous I worked at a place called Merlin Marine in Davie Fla and lived about 4 blocks from her parents house in Pembroke Pines . We mostly specialized in building large dispacment hi perfomance turbo diesel boat engines for offshore racing , drug smugglers and retro fits for yachts . Niki hung around with allot of the Ft Lauderdale yacht crowd that I worked for and I attended a few functions that she was at . My personal obsevations were that the girl liked to party and party hard if you catch my drift . Betsy you now know where my "gossipy crap " comes from and let me tell you my "gossipy crap" comes from very reliable first hand accounts.

I dont know exactly you are calling into question because the stuff about her rehab is very well known and easy to find and if you ever read Variety the Keith Urban stuff ran in there for the years she was with him . The stuff about her car wreck I have a little inside info on that I cant really say to much about but the whole police investigation was a joke . Heres a fact most people do not know , Nikis PR people claimed she was wearing her seat belt and thats what saved her life that was later exposed as a lie . She was riding in one of those cars from the late 80s early 90s that had the power shoulder belt and she never bothered to do up her lap belt . When you impacted something in those cars with the lap belt undone an effect called barber poleing takes place where you are spun around the shoulder belt , this is what led to he injuries . Had she really been wearing her seat belt her injuries would have been minor. If they could not even tell the truth about her wearing a seat belt do you think they told the truth about anything that happened in that wreck ?

Dude, that was 5 years ago. And, that is the latest info you can find on her! Sounds to me like she has turned her life around unless you can find something more recent.

People want to see other people make it. Predicting dark and gloomy events will seldom win you friends. This is not to say their marriage will last. Afterall 50% of all marriages end in divorce but it doesn't mean that it will fail due to her being a drug addict. Besides you made it sound like she was some kind of crack whore or something. Vicodin, a pain drug, that millions of people take and have to fight its addictive powers. Don't you watch House?

Anyway, Burney may be exactly what the Dr. ordered for her and the 2 boys.

Betsy, I think you are misplacing the blame wrongly on me. I just followed the link MM so thankfully provided for all of us to read. I'd suggest you re-read what I wrote. Everything I pointed to was how she had wanted to turn her life around... :confused:
 
BP, she's just trying to connect religion in this some how. It isn't just you, but anywhere she can find a connection, she'll throw that in. Just ignore her. She won't go away, but you'll feel better. :)

You'ns are funny! BP I also saw the link... I read inquirer in the link and would not click on it.. That was my comment.. Nothing religious.. some here must have a guilty conscience.
But now that it has been brought up.. I watched a show this evening on the science channel. It was the top 100 discoveries of all times.. DARWIN was voted #1 of all discoveries. I wonder what they have to say about that?
