Good morning everyone,Hope everyone survived the Holiday.We had a good Christmas at the pbunch house.Hope everyone got what they wanted.We spent the day in the house watching it snow,and playing games with the girls,and nieces.Have a great day everyone.:)
 
Good morning to you, pbunch. Glad your holiday was a good one. Mine was just fine. It is a dreary day, fairly cold with no sunshine, since this morning that is. Weatherman said we were supposed to have some today, but it hasn't broke through again.

Was a little nervous this morning. Put my 14 yr. old on an airplane by himself, one of those "indirect" flights....Had to lay over/change planes in Charlotte, then on to Nashville. Waiting on the telephone to ring saying that he made it to Nashville without any trouble. I keep checking the status of the flight, and is still on time. Bear with me, nervous mother here.........:eek:

I can understand you being nervous......my youngest daughter went on a flight when she was 14.....from california to florida to visit family, flight there was great..flight back was horrible.......she got stranded, i was a basket case, she had to spend the night in Atlanta, they were going to put her in a hotel with a stewardess, but then changed their minds because of her age..(you figure) anyway, she stayed in the on call room at Atlanta airport, i was so mad, so mad at Delta for doing that.....14 year old child at the airport overnight...
she said no one was around to really keep an eye out for her....what happened to the we watch your kids when they are alone stuff?
but anyway, she got home the next morning, very tired, very hungry..didn't even feed the kid.......
I was a very mad mother then, won't even go near Delta now..

that story of mine that happened wasn't meant to scare you...just to be aware thats all.........airlines aren't always to careful with our posessions and or their passengers, just speaking from experence......:(

I am sure your child will make it just fine........mine was just one of many few stories with problems with airlines, but they do happen...:(
 
He's flying United Airways. Never flown with them before, but the folks at DFW Airport were very friendly, and helpful. The lady at the ticket counter even told my son (and wrote it in his ticket folder) what gate he needed to go to as soon as he got off the plane in Charlotte. She even told him to go find the gate BEFORE he went to the concessions area that is "right in the middle" of the airport. I really appreciated her saying that. She even told him to ASK for help if he needed anything. Now it is a waiting game until the plane gets to the terminal and he gets off. Then his Dad BETTER call and let me know he has him in his possession!
 
Update: My son is safe and sound on the ground in Nashville, with his father. There are still some good people in this world. He said that he struck up a conversation with another "guy" on the plane and they found the gate and then got something to eat. I feel better now!:)

Good afternoon, friends. Been out in the after Christmas crush. Have to go buy my Texas Christmas cards while they are 1/2 price. LOL

Finished cleaning up the left-over pots and pans from yesterday. Don't like to do them while company is here --- I'd rather sit and eat pecan pie and talk. ;)
 
Hi gang, Glad to hear everyone had a great holiday. I hope all you folks out east are OK. I've been watching the weather and they said the east coast was getting hammered.

Paul, are you guys up to your eyeballs in snow yet?


Please be careful when shoveling. Back injuries and knee injuries are the pits.

We have no snow here in cheeseheadland. In fact, the grass on the south side of the street is starting to turn green. It's going to be a strange winter here, thanks to el nino.
