Allmendinger out of #84....soon? to the #41? UPDATE: Could AJ Allmendinger be just days away from completing a deal to drive the #41 Target-sponsored car for Chip Ganassi? And did Allmendinger drive his final race in the #84 Toyota? (Yahoo Sports), hearing Allmendinger could well be out of the #84 ride after Dover with Mike Skinner running the car at Kansas and Scott Speed running some races in the car the rest of the season.(9-22-2008)
UPDATE: A.J. Allmendinger got the word Wednesday that he will not be back at Red Bull Racing's NASCAR [#84] team next year. He'll be replaced, no doubt, by Scott Speed.(Toronto Star)(9-22-2008) Comment here

I think this is dumb. Yet another example of a company that thinks because some open-wheelers have done well they all will. AJ has come on strong and is a decent driver but again Red Bull is R&D right now not top notch like JGR is but they have been doing deent with Vickers all year and now with AJ coming on and getting his groove I think it is a dumb move to throw him away and put in Speed.

A.J. is really doing pretty well. It doesn't make a lot of sense to me either.

Couuld this be some help by Red Bull to get Scott Speed in a Red Bull car without having to get a 3rd one?

The Red Bull people are so in love with Speed it ain't even funny.

I could see them replacing him for next year but this isnt a good move right now. AJ has just driven the car into the top 35 and when you stick someone in there with no experiance in the COT they are not gonna be as good right off the bat, and a bad run or two could be the differacne of going to Daytona next year knowing your gonna be in the Daytona 500 or knowing you are gonna have to race your way in.

Great move for me since I have an interview at the ARCA race with Scott Speed. :D

Yeah great move Red Bull put scott in a car he has no experience in, but wait he's the top dawg in ARCA. Whole different ballgame here stud.

Great Andy. Where can we read your article at?
racingforthewin.com; I'll be at the park all weekend at the track or in my bayside hotel in Philadelphia getting fat and happy on cheesesteak. :D

I'd imagine he's done testing with RBR and BDR in the COT but don't hold me to that because I don't know that for a fact one way or the other.

Let me look around and see.
