When we bought our first house Ray and Dot were our neighbors. Ray was retired and a gardener. Not your 6 tomato and 4 pepper plants gardener. His garden was huge, he gave food away to churches, food pantry's and of course his neighbors. When my son got to be 2 or 3 he started a pumkin' patch for him. My son must have had 30-40 pumkins that year.
Ray had a stroke and they sold their house and moved into assisted living.
Two guys bought their house. They might have had a different lifestyle but when I was laid up following back surgery they dragged our garbage cans out for pick up, cut my grass and always asked if we needed anything when they went to the store. Quiet and neat, couldn't ask for better.
