Do you know what the law says in your state? I didn't realize we even had one, but apparently mine says that once you offer help, if it is accepted then you are obligated until the situation becomes unsafe for you or you become exausted.

I will research GA law, but in lots of states, even an MD who tries to help will be sued if not charged.

Not true kat.

That's what the good samaritan law is there for.

You aren't required to help once you start, but you cannot be sued by the victim for trying to help.

I know they've got one in Massachusetts. The last episode of Seinfeld was all about how Jerry & crew not only didn't obey it, but laughed at the guy as he was being mugged.

That's where you want to get your legal information, by the way. Television sitcoms.

:)

In ohio you must stay if you stop, and get involved untill a more qualified person shows up on the scene.I for one would save someones life with no regard to a law,or threat of being sued.Thats just my nature I guess. ;)
