JG has some kind of prob, shows only 15 laps for him, everyone else is at over 30 laps pretty much.

You da man .

Probably have a report at the start of the Busch race too.

what time does the busch race start?

hope its early....if not i'll get dragged out of my dorm room and forced to toss back a few beers and miss the race

Tiny's thread at the top should have the starting time.

Jeff had his throttle stick in practice and he crashed his primary car. He'll be starting in the back with a backup.:(

Last time team 24 pulled out a back up was at Charlotte last yaer during the Winston!

He won with it!

Likely story.

Probably shaved the throttle stop off for qualifying and didn't want the inspectors to see it.;)

Jeff will be driving the backup, without Bugs except on the uniform, starting at the back but he's not alone.
Bill Elliott blew up and will also be relegated to the back.

I heard that it was Robby Gordon & not Jeff...uummmm....:(

I think thats really good luck for Jeff Gordon. He never does good in special paint scheme cars anymore and now he will be driving the flames at Richmond. If you remember last year his Bugs Bunny car went into the turn 2 wall around 20 laps into the race.
Lets see if Jeff can make it 3 in a row and get the points lead.

That's right, he never does good in a special paint scheme car! Just hope there isn't an early caution to string ut the field single file.

After the Derek crash Benny said Jeff's throttle stuck at about a fourth of the way open.

As far as no early caution goes, you can almost bet on the yellow coming out early. Look for Jeff to do a two tire stop to gain track position.

Im asumeing so will bill if you have a good car you got to get it to the front

Recent years I do believe Ur correct about the special paint schemes, might be a blessing in disguise!
Find it interesting tho that Dave Blaney(qual.3rd)goes to a back-up car but because They used the primary engine They're able to keep their qual.position! I didn't know about that rule!

The difference is that Blaney qualified the back up car. That has been the rule for many years and is unaffected by the one engine rule. The one engine rule applies to the entire race weekend.

If after qualifying driver must go to a backup car that driver goes to the back regardless of whether they use the same or a different engine.

If an engine change occurs at any time following check in, the driver goes to the back.

Hey Srabble,Do they have a rule on how much you can rebuild on an engine as long as the block doesn't leave the car?

Not sure how exactly how the rule is written, don't have a current rulebook in my possession.

I recall several teams talking about replacing valve springs and some other items as a precaution so that is allowed. To replace rods, pistons, bearings, and other items of that ilk would probably be too risky if the engine has to live under race conditions.

Would guess that if ya pull the heads NASCAR might consider that an engine change, not sure though.

So pretty much Nascar could make a rule if they see a little to much being done. Thanks Scrab.:)
