From the article:
We were having a pretty solid day with the Drive to End Hunger Chevrolet until the No. 1 car got loose and got into our left rear; he was just way over his head. I knew he had a good car. He has been running good, but he just got loose and got into me and got me into the wall. We had a little damage but we just lost all that track position. It is so hard to get it back at this place.

Yeah, it's not super serious, but this is the main reason why I don't like Jeffy. He gets so irritated sometimes when someone makes an honest mistake that negatively affects him in any way. He's been at this long enough to know that mistakes happen out there, and he's made them just like everybody else.

No, I'm not saying he should take everything bad that happens to him with a smile, but come on, dude. Ease back.

I hear ya...but if someone tells me I am driving over my head, I would say that person is telling me I just got lucky and am not that good of a driver.

Quite a difference between Gordon and Johnson's problems, and Johnson paid more of a price, but I couldn't find anything about him throwing Biffle or the drivers who jammed up the pack under the bus.

"This means we've got to be on our game at Charlotte and Talladega," Johnson said. "There's still a lot of racing left, and other stuff can happen. So we'll see how the other Chase drivers will do. We'll do our best to get back on track and get some wins."

Yeah, I think the "over his head" comment is a little condescending. Jamie's a 12-year veteran, it's not like yesterday was his first time in a Cup car.

This will work out ok for Jeff even if he gets eliminated.
He will just wait for McMurray to come back around him at Phoenix and put him into the wall with another chicken**** stunt.
His fans will be in awe of his badassery as his pit crew guards him like the secret service, and eternally hate McMurray for existing.

It all just and rightous, afterall Jeff is a man without fault, and drives to the feed the hungry. When called upon, he even feeds the hungry with just a few loves and fishes.

i wonder ? .....lil jeffie couldn't possibly have gone conservative ....like harvick.....after jr & brad pops tire ??? :D

NASCAR Jesus?

Not sure if the analogy fits. Jeff fans are more serious and dedicated. Just take care, not to take his blessed name in vain, or show any signs of disrespect.
Jeff won't weep, but the just traumatized fans will.

Good point...your mention of the loaves and fishes made me think of it.

You look at the leaderboard and figure four out of 12 are out of it if you can finish, and up until the last restart he was in a great finishing position..he screwed himself IMO. I could see in the heat of the race saying what he said about the 1, but saying it again after you had time to think about it?

yeah.....i agree .....shoulda added :sarcasm: ta my post !

like #4 ...jeffie did tha top 15 coasting ride ta finish. then bitches bout # 1 in post race ! typical.

Nbd

Racing deal.

Also note how Jimmie didn't go find Biffle after the race and rip him around by the collar and whine like a little girl.
And after clint took gordon & johnson out at mville killing any chance of getting the 200th victory at such a personal track, they didnt go hunt him down looking for a brawl.

Tough to do much better with even a little right-side damage.

But Jimmie wanted his team to tell the #1 that they were racing for a championship at New Hampshire.

All drivers that are running for a championship HAVE THE RIGHT to complain about non contenders being in the ****** way.

Until NASCAR lets them drive by themselves (Chasers) they have a legitimate beef.

My two cents.

They have the right OR NOT to whine, and Jeffy needs to apologize, his head is way too big.

Johnson certainly didn't, but Martinsville was part of the reason why Gordon took Bowyer out at Phoenix. Nevermind the fact that at Martinsville, Bowyer only went to the inside because Newman stuck his nose down there like he was gonna go for it and then pushed Bowyer into the turn.

And then at Phoenix, Gordon decided that he had been run over enough times that year and "had enough of it." In that race, Bowyer just barely accidentally touched Gordon, which cut his right rear down. He tried and failed to pay Bowyer back and wrecked himself. Then he tried it a second time and succeeded. I understand him being frustrated about his day being ruined, and again, I don't expect him to always take that type of stuff with a smile, but he overreacted to a racing incident, which is what he typically does.

I will say this in Jeffy's defense, though: at least he eventually admitted that he went too far at Phoenix.

Ehh, Chase or no Chase, they're all out there racing to win, and they all have a right to be out there racing to win. What are the non-Chasers supposed to do? Pull over and let the Chasers go by whenever they see them?

Of course, that was radio communication only moments after nearly being spun out. Drivers say stupid **** when the adrenaline is pumping inside the racecar :D
Gordon said that on the radio too and being disappointed right after the race is also understandable. He'll forget about it soon enough.

Didn't Gordon paid the dude respect by first saying he (Mcflurry) had been fast the last couple of weeks? He just happened to said he's been driving over his head the last couple of them as well.

Now, to what he meant, I'm not entirely sure but he's the one on the track and the one who knows.

It's cute seeing the lot of you jizzing yourselves over a comment a driver made and calling him a whiner.

Going by this logic you can never criticize another driver yourself. Seeing as they're in the car and no more then you. I understand you like Gordon, but you defend him on every instance known to man kind. He is capable of making mistakes, such as Phoenix 2012. And he whines all of the time when he's raced hard.

Reck makes an interesting point. This IS the playoffs now right? & drivers who arent in the playoffs ruining playoff contending teams NEVER happens in other sports. Why? Because non-playoff teams are sitting at home not playing (racing). Could you imagine NFL teams in the playoffs having random players from other teams who didnt make the playoffs trying to ruin the day? This is why playoffs in racing is ridiculously insane.

If you want a real playoff system make the teams that arent in line for a champiomship stay home after richmond.

What logic?

I was referring to him talking about Jamie driving over his head for the past couple of weeks.

As far as me defending Gordon every time. LOL

You must be new here.

I'm insanely critical of him. Anyone who knows my posting history here would tell you I'm often hard on him and always saying negative stuff pertaining to his performance on the track when he does crappy. Known fact.

I call it as I see it.

Now, as a general rule of thumb I'm going to stick by his side, being that I'm a fan of him but that shouldn't be a surprise now should it?

For instance, I knew what he did to Bowyer at Phoenix was all kinds of messed up but did I shed a tear? No.

Did I say; oh finally!! You bet I did.

What I find most funny though here is that there are quite a few people who seem to hate Gordon or like Gordon based on how he is doing.

Not a year ago, you could swear he was a saint. Couldn't do no wrong and people were happy to see him do well again.

Fast forward some months and Gordon couldn't be doing better and those same people are calling him a whiner, a this or a that. Two faced.

Some people still can't stand that this old dude it's still adding to the record books when they thought he was utterly done.

So you say that I defend him whenever the time calls for it. You're damn right I do.

And I will continue to do so. Do you, or anyone else have a problem with that? You can kindly go **** yourselves. :)

. I get your point about the actual playoffs themselves, but think of the NFL. Its part of the drama to see the team that is not going to make the post season take out the playoff bound one. Plus, some of those non-playoff bound teams look at beating the playoff team as their superbowl.
