The statement shows that Gordon earns about $1.87 million a month -- including a base salary of $29,683, bonuses of $800,000, income from other corporations and partnerships of $579,564 and income from royalties or trusts of $434,540.

After taxes, his net monthly income is $1.1 million, the affidavit shows.

Gordon lists his monthly expenses at $253,123 -- including $51,903 a month to maintain his mansion on Highland Beach. He also said he donates $8,900 a month to charities.

His estranged wife has asked for exclusive use of the Highland Beach mansion, valued at $10.2 million, as well as alimony, two cars and periodic use of their boats and an airplane. She also wants her husband to continue to pay the salaries of their housekeepers, maintenance workers and chef.

This could be messy. We're talking some really big bucks.

She filed, she should get the bare minimum. I know everybocy is gonna say it takes two to make it work. And I dont know the whole story, but she could have stuck it out and tried harder. No poor Jeff sympathy from me here, he also could have tried harder. Where theres a will there's a way!

Don't get the wrong feeling here, I'm not a real Jeff Gordon fan. Yes, he can drive a race car. His 50 plus wins are a fact and he should always be applauded for those numbers. I would like to know if Brook and Jeff made the move to Florida from North Carolina because the divorce laws are somewhat more liberal in the Sunshine State?

From an insider who works the circuit, the scuttlebut is that Brooke is really enjoying the high life and would love a more European style of living so to speak. She was beginning to think that Jeff was close to retiring but when he bought into the 48 car, she knew that Jeff was in this for the long haul. She doesn't like the traveling around the country for races each and every week and had enough.

As for moving to Florida from NC, that one is easy. Many of the drivers lived on Lake Norman, near Mooresville where most of the shops are located. Because they had property on the lake front, they were open to the many fans who could and would flock to their sites. Some were not good fans and would create scenes. I believe that Mark Martin was the first to move and that started the mass migration. Rusty Wallace would often complain about the many negative fans who would harrass him at the lake.

I live in Mooresville.......the reason why these drivers left NC is simple......no State Income tax in FL...here in NC we have a state in come tax.

the majority of drivers still live in this year btw, there asnt been a massive move to FL

you would be surprised, but most of the drivers dont live on the lake and the ones that do live on the lake dont really have that much of a problem. they arent the only famous people that own houses on Lake Norman

the only driver that i have heard that has had some problems has been Rusty Wallace...yes he has had some problems. but he's the only one ive heard of.

Earnhardt Jr's house is sittin beside a very busy road with just a simple 3ft wooden fence....his house is very visible from the road and easily accesible...but yet he doesnt have a problem.

You beat me to it, wcucharlotteguy. LOL
I always figured it was the state income tax.

And, like you, the only driver I ever heard having a problem was Rusty.

Junior's house is a very simple place. The huge garage in the back is eye-catching. I notice he's also put up hedges to help with the privacy on the pool side.

I understand he may be considering building a new home on the property he bought. To not be so public.

I didn't mean that all the drivers were moving to Florida, but a lot of the bigger names have moved. Yeah, we have income tax here in this state. Wow, and it seems to be getting bigger too. Hey Charlotte guy, have have been by to see Childress' new home? Just south of Clemmons and what a home. Built it to the south of his old home with the daughter's house across the road. We watched the progress of the home. Must be nice to have that kind of money. :) And it's not on a lake or anything.

cant say that i have.........i used to live in Clemmons also lol

This place has not one, but two perimeter fences and three gates to each. I understand that Richard has an elevator in that house. It's way out on Hampton Road. Looks beautiful from the road.

The boy gets paid don't he!! Too Cool!! Yeah a bunch of the IndyCar drivers live here in Vegas too. We have no state income tax either. 8% is 8%!!!

wcucharlotteguy, in answer to your question, yes. Several times.

I've even had the privilege of going "behind the glass" at DEI. Saw everything from the paint booths, to the engine dyno rooms, to the fab shops. Met Wilson up close and personal last year in Junior's shop.

Have even had lunch in the Trophy Dining room upstairs.

ok well then you probably drove right by my house Texas Race Lady

LOL

SO? the man drives his azz off and always has. Brooke is a greedy, bloodsucking leech who could not handle her husband being the star he became.

BTW, My sister lived on Lake Norman until a month ago, Mom lived in Cornelius, Daddy in Mooresville.

Mom's last car was bought at the Hendricks dealership and when she passed, she left it to my nephew who lives in Charlotte.

Jeff seems much more centered now and doesn't need that "beauty queen" any more.

And to all y'all, TRL knows more about racing than any one of us who post here!

Uh oh, the claws are coming out! :) The Mrs used to be Brooke's mother's nurse and would see her now and then. That was pre-breakup. Her mother is much nicer than she is.

I read somewhere that the Gordon's had bellied up on the lack of privacy living in NC on Lake Norman....one time Brooke woke up in the middle of the nite and went into the kitchen and caught a photog at their kitchen window taking pics of their cat asleep! Boatloads of abg'ers would float on by jeering and hootin' and hollarin' at the house. They moved to Florida, away from the entire NASCAR family in 1997 isolating themselves from friends and family.

:)

Burner, I met Jeff and the queen on their boat on Lake Norman not long before their move. Sure he bellied up to the B, and why do you think he is back in NC?
He was gracious and she was a witch. Jeez, we were on my sister's boat and they were on theirs.
She thinks she's ALL THAT and more.

YES CB, my claws are sctatching Brooke's eyeballs as I type.
HISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS, CLAW Brooke.

PURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR to Jeff

Brooke has about as good a personality here as Michael Andretti's first wife, can't remember her name. Both are probably made from the same mold. I guess they found their niche amoung the wealthy and that's the way it goes. :)

Kat hi how ya doin? Brooke might be a witch, but she was with him for 7 years and she deserves to be compensated for the years that she was married to him. Because there are no children from this marriage, I don't believe she should get nearly as much as she is asking for. I believe the judge will make them sell the 10M house. I don't believe she will get paid maid service or useage of his boat and airplane. IF they had had kids...........that is a different story. I think the main reason this divorce is taking so long, is that she was so involved in the different foundations and organizations they set up together. She does want to remain involved in the Jeff Gordon Foundation......If I were Jeff....I would want a complete and total break from her....'specially since there are no kids.

And what does Jeffy deserve? The privilege of giving her what she "deserves"?

Strange how some want complete equality, but they deserve something just because they experienced something unpleasant.......isn't it a two way street here?

I've heard that the breakup, while a bit of a surprise to Jeffy, was not totally unexpected. Also, I've heard that they both still care for each other but that they just couldn't stay married to each other. One thing I know and that is once this thing really gets going, their mutual admiration society will come to a halt pronto! Been there done that! There will only be two winners in this one and they both will have law degrees.

You bet she's entitled to some of his money. Even through she was living in the lap of luxury, there were many lonely days spent alone while he was either at the track, or testing or off on some junket for his many sponsors. All NASCAR wives take a back seat to their husbands busy careers. Most have kids to raise and that seems to help keep them busy.......the Gordon's don't have kids, so she only had him for company and to keep busy in his absence, she dove into maintaining the many charities and foundations they started together, putting herself second for the sake of his career. I will once more reiterate.....IMHO, I don't think she is entitled to most of what she is asking for, but she is entitled to be able to have financial security until she remarries. I personally think that this all has to do with him moving on without her, and that old saying comes to mind..........Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned!
