I went to regular dr today for anxiety and bad chest pains.at first i thought it was my bronchitus flaring up again.dr.kept listening to heart.(chest pains started up again but this time in his office)e.k.g.was abnormal.he's making an apt.w/cardiologist asap.i need echo/stress test to see what's wrong w/heart.he's sedating me for entire month.(i'm a florist w/proms,graduations,mother's day and this friday mom's surgery.)(last time she flatlined)I work by myself and have no help.I'm telling mom i'm being treated for anxiety.after her surgery then i'll tell her the rest.i don't want her to worry about me.
has anyone had adnormal e.k.g. and it wasn't anything?I'm very upset.

Isis, I have an abnormal heart rhythm, also. However, mine does not involve chest pains. I've done the echo and the stress test --- nothing to them.

Your anxiety may have a lot to do with your heart. Take some time to relax. Listen to the cardiologist.

I have a friend going through the same sort of thing - abnormal EKG. She still doesn't have an answer, but they have ruled out a lot of other things they thought might be wrong. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your mom.

Well just be thankful you aren't me. Many who know me accuse me of not even having a heart...

Four the hardest part of those tests is the treadmill for the stress test you be on it for like 15 to 20 mins.I've had those tests run before.I'm sure they explained the tests to you .If they didn't the echo is just like a sonagram for a baby but they do it on your heart. The nuclear stress test they give you a shot of radioactive dye then take pics of your heart then put you on a treadmill till you get to a certain heart rate then you rest for a little, then they take pics of your heart again.I've had Congestive Heart Failure since 2001.When I was 34.They say my heart is pumping 20%.Thank God for a good cardiologist and meds.I've slowed down but once I learned my limitations it's been easier to deal with.I'll be praying for you and if you have any questions you can PM me if you want.

Nuclear stress was a piece of cake. The only hard part was the waiting around.

Oh, and be prepared for your chest to be sore after the echo. They press down to get a clear pic. Ouch.
