My boss told me today that he has at least two tickets for me for saturday night's Cleveland Grand Prix. I am not really a fan of open wheel so much, but it should be cool to take my son if it works out schedule wise. He said he likely has at least two more tickets for me. Since Bridgestone-Firestone only supplies open wheel tires I guess I better try to get into it. Free tickets to a major race is cool even if it is open wheel. :salute:

Anybody here follow the CART series? I had to do some research to find out that the Cleveland Grand Prix was a CART event. The main board on here says CART is the fastest open wheel circuit on earth. How fast do they go? Who should I watch? I expect to be completely lost as far as rules and strategy go, but I would like to at least have a clue. I'm sure I will just enjoy the speed of it all, though.

If you don't know the race is held at the airprot and the track is awsome! LOng wide but sharp turns1 It should be a blast. Plus its only the second ever night race for cart and first there! I hope you have a great time. I posted in teh CART board as who to watch. They do have a pit window deal where the teams have to pit in between certain times btu thats not made public untill about race time. It will proably be a 3 pit stop race, so how ever long the race is divide it by 4 and you should get the laps that the teams will have to pit by! Have fun!!

Very Fast. They have a 2.65 liter Turbocharged Methnol V-8 making over 800 horses stuffed into a 1500 pound car. I have heard 0-60 is around 2.3 with a top speed of 240. In other words, defintally go. I'm impressed just by the cars let alone the racing. The Cleveland race is defintally cool, they almost did away with it a couple of years ago, so I assume you are paking your bags right now :)

I am really starting to look forward to it now. I got 2 tickets today and I am supposed to get 2 more on saturday morning. I am supposed to work from 7am-6pm saturday, but the race doesn't start until 8:30pm. I assume my boss will let me out a little bit early on saturday so I can go, but you never know. The tickets I got today came with "chalet passes" to the Bridgestone Chalet. This is pretty cool stuff, they have a nice meal at 4pm and quite a bit of other cool stuff for my son and I to do if I get to leave work early enough. It only takes me about 30-45 minutes to get to Burke Lakefront Airport where it is held.

Thanks for the info guys. :salute:
