Like the title says, what are some of your favorites?
Do you have a favorite All-Star race moment you would like to share?
Something from Youtube, a personal experience, anything. Feel free.
 
Hands down, my favorite (and possibly yours) All-Star race, ever.

It's circa May 1992, and I hear Charlotte is gonna run the event at night, the first ever night race at any NASCAR superspeedway. I wish I was there. I had to settle for watching on tv.

The race far surpassed any hype that preceeded it. An instant classic. I wish the video here went back a few more laps, but here it is, nevertheless.

1) BEST:One Hot Night as it was labeled in '92. First Superspeedway night race, Full moon Saturday night, and one of the wildest finishes in cup history. I was there for it and it was the greatest.

2) GOOD:Rusty spinning Waltrip out coming to White flag. My first The Winston race, sitting in turn 4 cheering on D.W. and that bastard Wallace spins Waltrip right in front of me. Boy I was pissed.

3) AWESOME: Jeff Gordon runs out of gas after crossing Start/Finish line giving Mark Martin the Victory.

4) HORRIBLE: Watching Gordon in the T-Rex Jurassic Park car stinking up the race in a very illegal experimental car that NASCAR said to never bring back to the track again.

5) STUNK! Waltrip in chrome Western Auto car and Earnhardt crashing in turn 4 handing the victory to Jeff Gordon.

6) STUPID MOVE: Brian VickerS spinning Mike Bliss on last lap to win Open race.

Great, great list. I remember all of those moments, but mostly because you mentioned them.

I envy you for being at the '92 race.

#5 on your list, that start of the ten lap shootout ranks right up there as one of the most exciting restarts in All-Star history. Remember, Darrell had the chrome shoes to go along with his chrome car. Lol.
 
Here's #6 on GREAT AMERICAN RACE FAN's list. Bush league or anything goes?

 
I read an article recently with the writer calling for the All-Star race to be rotated among several different NASCAR tracks. Another wrote one stating it should stay in Charlotte.

I wouldn't be opposed to Bristol as a host for an All-Star race.

As much as some people hated Gordon's T-Rex car, the car Davey Allison had that was wrecked in '92 was almost as dominant. He won about every race in that car at Charlotte.

That T-Rex car is still one of my favorite stories around the Charlotte races. Ive always been into chassis setups and i know Ray was one of the best. Id still love 5 minutes with that car to see what he did. But im sure there are millions that would like the same lol.
 
If I was Bliss, Vickers would not have been in the race. I'd ran his ass down. Vickers seems good at Chicken Sh** moves. He done it here and done it at Dega to win also.

Yeah, Davey stunk it up a few times there.
