Great race!

Don't know why jeff was complaining it looked like the track was better than ever

The general complaint was no front grip and slow speeds, but it made for some incredible side-by-side racing.

Bottom grovve got slower, made the high groove workable and the racing was great.

Hope the track stays just like it is!:)

HS, that was great racing.

But you always get down on me when I say a race was terrible. How do you know this racing was great? ;)

Best Martinsville racing I've seen in awhile. You could actually race in the upper or lower groove, which made for some great side-by-side racing.

First off, I never saw a terrible race in my life. Reckon that means my opinion is pretty worthless on that subject!:D

Not a whole slew of leaders or passes for the lead but good battles even on camera all day. No follow the leader, we had two or three different lines all day long.

Pit strategy and good pit work were a factor. Track position was factor. Plain old gut it out was a factor. What could have possibly been missing?

Ricky Rudd may well have had the best car all day long, Some who were fast at the start, weren't at the end. Some not so fast at the start, were qucker at the end.

You had to shake and bake in the pits, in the helmet and on the track. That's Racin"!

:) :)

Opinions may vary, personal experience and preferences may alter the results.

But when I was criticizing other races for single file racing for 100s of laps, no battles etc etc you would say that those were not reasons to say that it's boring racing.

It wasn't that great. I got to listen to my friend b*tch about how slow they were going around the track for four hours. This time he actually was interested. I thought it was a better race too.

Actually had a 2nd groove. Perhaps the inside ain't as good as it used to be but the result was side by side. Didn't see a bunch of blown right fronts late in the runs.

You misunderstand the statement. Despite the fact that there were few battles for the lead and lead changes, Televison still managed to show a lot of racing. This is often not the case as you well know. This meant that battles must have been all over the track if TV managed to get 'em on the when they were not for the lead.

And seems I recall you once telling me that the race at NHIS when Jeff Burton led flag to flag was a good race. So I always wonder why one race with no lead changes is good and another is just follow the leader.

Follow the leader is for me when no one seems to want to go for the change. Be it the lead or anywhere else. Today seems virtually everyone went for it for most of the day.

You know after putting my thoughts into it,every track the rest of the year may take on a new light due to the points being so close.;) We saw a good battle from our heros today. No mattter who you were pulling for.;)

I would give it a 7, with the track's previous grade being a 6. The difference was the quality of racing and I can not give all that credit to the track changes. It seems as though this race compared to the spring and last years races was much more competitive from flag to flag. It may be as much the points standings as the track changes that led to my impression.

I would give it an 8. It had some great side-by-side racing and a little bit of drama, with Tony gettin squeezed.

I loved the side by side racing, you didn't have to wait for a mistake to gain a spot. I hope all races from now on at Martinsville are like this.
