GTA V --- Really?

It's pretty much King of video games. I played some of the older versions and they were okay. I'd rather play sports games though.

It is indeed a fantastic game.

I got it myself yesterday, Only played over an hour and I can say its the best game of the series by far and best of the year.

Most of it is hype TRL but the hype pays off because it backs it up.

I never was a big fan of the GTA series, myself. Nothing against the violence or whatever, just not my style :idunno:

Things you can do in the game..

New info:

Plot

- 6 main heists;

- Mission(-s), in which you will need to use torture to extract information;

- There will not be complete, all-sufficient missions under water, but many heists will be connected to it. You can use the underwater world for escaping from arrest.

- Police can swim.

Heists

- More than 20+ types of masks for the heists;

- If the police will see you in masks with guns, they'll arrest you. When you take off the mask, you're no longer recognized by police or pedestrians.
For example, if you wear a mask, pedestrians will start to panic, to be afraid, to call the police, and even take pictures with their cameras.
When you take off your mask, they'll continue to panic, but they no longer recognize you.

- Some of the heists are so difficult that you have to seek help from mercenaries. Some of the mercenaries are: goon, sniper, hacker, pickpocket.

Activities

- You can pay 2$ and take a tour of the richest places of this mysterious city.

- You can buy a prostitute on the road.

- You can order a lap dance at a strip club.

- You can go into the woods on a trailer, taking the necessary camouflage and weapons and check your hunting skills. But remember that you're not alone. There are robbers, murderers, drug addicts who'll bring you problems.

Wild World

- Very huge amount of animals.

- In the wild: deer, rabbits, squirrels, mountain goats.

- In the countryside - animals of rural type.

And more

I have never been a GTA fan, but I did love Red Dead Redemption (rock stars other main title game). I really hope they are working on a Red Dead game with a world GTA size.

I've played a fair share of it since Tuesday. I have to admit. They are really pushing the limits with this game but for all the violence and thuggery in this game, the landscape is equally gorgeous and they recreated the whole state of California on a smaller scale perfectly. Big Sur/Yosemite-esque features in the west and the north, LA/Hollywood in the south. My favorite is the desert area though. There's a huge lake that's basically the Salton Sea, and crappy little towns throughout. and TONS of off-roading if you want.

However, I cannot believe parents are cool letting their kids play this game. I'm not saying it'll make you're kids kill people, but it will help destroy their innocence.

Oh this game is definitely not for kids. lol

I'm early on in the game still but from what I can tell Lamar is a creepy dude. The things he says. WTF.

I saw that you also play this game, are you having any problems with your characters & Rockstar servers not saving & such?

Yep, I prefer the Western genre much more than the hood rat one.

That's for online.

They release online mode with all kinds of defects. I couldn't get in on their servers for 3 days straight.

Yeah they released another patch today & it d@mn near fried my console, I couldn't stay logged in for most than a few minutes at a time. One of my network accounts wouldn't even let me log in at all but I checked again later on in the night & it finally worked. It's definitely been a hassle, I'm wondering how much longer it's going to take before all the bugs are fixed...

Yeah it has been a hassle.

I got to make my character and I haven't been able to play at all.

I'm just going to wait it all out.

At the beginning the online froze my entire console twice. I thought for sure it would damage the harddrive or something. I had to force shut it down.

It was a pain at first, no problems since...

At 12, I know my son's probably heard much worse at school. I said no at first, but finally gave in because he plays in the room me and the wife are in all the time. So I just told him he couldn't do the missions and has to turn the volume down. He's cool with that, because all he wants to do is drive around and crash into other cars anyways.

I have to say, I didn't know where this quote was going...
