It was widely noted on Speed TV early this afternoon (Saturday, June 30, live from New Hampshire International Speedway) that the suspended crew chiefs (Steve Letarte and Chad Knaus) from the 24 and 48 Rick Hendrick Racing teams were comfortably ensconced on the track's property, in motorcoaches, running the shows for their teams.

I do not agree with that.

Once a crew chief is suspended, they should not have contact with the team at any time until the suspension is lifted or completed.

It is well within the rules. They cannot go to any area where they need credentials. They can be in the stands, suites or a motorhome parked in the infield. Will it help during the race? DEI says it didn't help them.
But then I don't remember anyone saying anything about Eury Jr. sitting in the motorhome texting to the team.
Oh, wait, Lil'E doesn't drive for HMS -- (wait for it, wait for it) -- YET!
The crying and gnashing of teeth will undoubtably have to wait until next year for him. ;)

Wonder if they got them a motor home pulled up there on that hill that overlooks the race track? That would be a good view.

Well at one point the announcers said that Lil'E saw his friend TE Jr. on the backstretch. The aerial view showed a short bus, I wonder if that's his?
