Man I love the short tracks. Just as I have been tiring of these fuel mileage, boat races here comes Bristol to sooth my racing appetite. The excitement and action at Bristol is just what I've been needing for a while. :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Bristol is my favorite track, I can't wait for some real racin' this weekend!

I am gonna grille steaks, drink cold beer, and watch the race standing waist deep in a swimming pool. Whoo-Hoo I can't wait.

I'll be there for the trucks tomorrow night then back friday and Sat for the bush and cup races can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you kiddies think Bristol is great, you should have seen the World Championship Demolition Derby's they used to have at Islip, NY.

Those shows were televised on ABC Wide World of Sports long before any of the NASCAR productions made it to the big time.

Some really great crash and bang, wreck 'em type racing.

Had some pretty good Figure Eight shows from that same track around that same time as well.

boB why the hell are you so negative when it comes to BMS? oh i know you like the great races they put on in NH. By the way i'm no kid been going to BMS for the past 25 years will have to say the racin was better before they put the concrete down but i have more fun at that race than any other track i have been to.

IMHO any track where you need to use the bumper to get around another car is not racing.
As you said, since they increased the banking and put down the concrete at Bristol it just isn't the same.
With that degree of banking on a short track and the speeds which the cars reach, it is impossible to react in time to avoid someone else's accident. You're part of it before you even see it happening.
It's wreck or be wrecked. Just another demolition derby.

Bristol is more of a happening than a race. It's a perfect example of the power of marketing today.
Everyone wants to go there because everyone thinks everyone else wants to go there.
Fact that the racing sucks is of no matter. Somebody says that it's great racing, it must be great racing because somebody else says so.
Perfect example of the old P.T.Barnum theory.

End of story.

ANy short track racing is good racing but Bristol is such a tough track because to win there you need more than a good car. It takes patience, skill, ability, talent, a good pit crew, luck, brains, did I mention luck? and talent too. This is one track when a guy wins, it is because they earned it although there are a few recorded flukes there of winners, but they are truly few and far between.

Bristol is like watching a tennis match, all you do is swivel your head back and forth and most times it isn't quick enough to comprehend what is taking place. The best seat in the house to watch the Bristol race is right in your favorite chair in front of your television set. No traffic, all the action shown, cold beer at reasonable prices and nearby rest room facilities.

The best racing is anything a mile or less and no banking, including Rockingham and Dover however. This is when a driver proves thier worth. Of course this is arguable and that is what makes life interesting. If everybody liked the same thing .........

WooHoo!!! Bristol rocks. I guess you are in the minority here, boB. But you have your opinion regarding Bristol and we have ours. I don't like the racing at Bristol because as you say
Somebody says that it's great racing, it must be great racing because somebody else says so.
And yes, I do want to attend a race there in person. And not because
Everyone wants to go there because everyone thinks everyone else wants to go there.
I used to watch the Demolition Derby! I always thought they were cool, but I do not in any way feel that the Bristol races have the intention of being a Demolition Derby. As Whizzer put it, it
takes patience, skill, ability, talent, a good pit crew, luck, brains, did I mention luck? and talent too.

I've said my peace, now bring on the racing! ;) :p :) :) :bounce:

Whizzer i don't know if at home in front of the TV is the best seat or not, i guess because i've NEVER seen it on TV , I'm allways there !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEA - HA

Can't wait! SHould be a great race. I hope Bristol is as kind to KP and JB as Michigan was!!! Kyle and Johnny both had great cars there in the spring but we all know what happened to Kyle, But what happened to JB I forget?

Bummer 11! I guess that's what VCR's are for, right? I'm having a party at my house - it's only partially to watch the race, but of course, it will be on...there's going to be a TV watching room and a non-interested room, LOL!

I love Bristol...yes, there is a lot of hype and all, but still, it's great racing.

Didn't Kenny S say something to the effect last night that Bristol was terrible to race but great to watch? I like the short tracks, but if it is only going to be a single groove track basically then it becomes more of a demolition derby.

I was going to post that....

He said that Bristol is horrible racing, but it's the best event on the schedule. They should do to Bristol what they did to dover and grind the the corners so there are less bumps up in the higher grooves and make it better for side by side racing...

My love for Bristol has nothing at all with anybody else's likes or dislikes. I have been to Martinsville a few times and I prefer that track to Bristol. I'm just glad we have a short track coming up this weekend to break up the monotony. :D

If you liked Spencer vs Busch, we're going to have a lot more than that !!!!!!
