From WSLS-TV:
JUST IN (8:46 p.m.) - Richmond NASCAR driver Denny Hamlin has received medical clearance to return this weekend at Talladega Superspeedway

He's not going to do anything but try to stay on track till the first caution.

Cut it out, man

Seriously??? Hamlin has a compression fracture that has parked him for several weeks. Again, if he is stupid enough to try and retaliate this weekend then he deserves to be parked for the rest of the year.

I meant he sure as hell isn't going to try anything right now. Quit being a drama queen :D
It WILL happen though and I can't wait for the punt. I'll dance a jig on the front grass :)

Jig with your clothes on this time;) PLEASE:mad:

Talladega is not the place to dump someone and Denny knows that, but I'm sure he'll return the favor at some point this season. It's definitely not over between those two yet.

A drama queen??? Me??? LOL

No doubt, but again, if Hamlin does it THIS weekend he is dumber than I thought.

WSLS....are you in Roanoke, VA Andy? I grew up there, so I recognized those call letters....

Incidentally, during a couple of this season's races, some of the neighbors have actually seen me dancing a jig on the front lawn.
A few of them think I'm squirrely ;)

Three times since the track opened, there's been a Cup race at Talladega with no cautions. Although it's unlikely, what will JGR do if there's no yellow? I say 50 laps, they yank him under green if need be. Less if he's doing terribly. More if he's doing well.

maybe a JGR fan will toss a beer can on the track :p,lol.

I think its horse crap that he can just start and end up being credited with a top 10.

Did Denny win a few years ago in nationwide as Joey? Or was it the other way around?

Man it's been that way forever . I imagine half the guys in the Hall of Fame were lifted into their cars at on time or another.

Hamlin's a 'head case'. His asinine comments about the incident continue on Twitter. There's little doubt by me that he's stupid enough to retaliate here for what was a racing deal for the win. Personally, I think that the guy is still delusional due to the overwhelming support that he received after his fine for his earlier comments on the Gen 6 car. I think that he feels that continued support with his involvement in the Logano incident. Any of that that does exist out there is only by the Logano detractors IMO.

This could get interesting this weekend but I would have to think coach Gibbs has already spoken to Hamlin.

Hmmmmm. Sliced bread verses sour milk. LOL

If Hamlin is stupid enough to punt Joey or anyone for the remainder of his career he may be done forever because of his back. I'm sure that's on his mind a hell of a lot more than getting revenge on Joey.

Yeah, every series allows driver changes mid-race in case of fatigue or illness. Not sure why people are so hung up over this. :(

I think Dale Jr. even did it once. I want to say he was injured in a Busch race and raced to first caution at like Richmond or some place. I wanna say it was like 2002 or 2003. Anybody remember what I'm talking about?

They must read your posts on racing forums. :p

Was that after he got hurt in that sports car race or whatever it was?

Yeah, finally found it.

He was severely burned at an American LeMans race at Sonoma while racing for Team Corvette. Next Cup race at New Hampshire (2004 Siemens 300), he raced until lap 60 when during first caution, he got out of the car and Martin Truex, Jr. took over. Dale Jr. was second in points at the time. The #8 car started 3rd, and Martin Truex Jr. drove it home in 31st place, two laps down.

That's Denny for you. He also seems to think his being on the box and pestering Vickers is THE absolute key to the teams success. They showed him blathering away to Vickers while Brian seemed to glaze over and stare into space. Not that Denny even noticed. He was too busy putting on a show for the media.

About a hundred years ago my dad told me to not get excited if a person kept jabbering on and on about an event being somebody else's fault when it was clearly their fault, that they were just trying to compensate for their own shortcomings. Repetitive placing of the blame elsewhere would not do what they are after, which is trying to convince anyone who would listen of their innocence and the other persons stupidity.
