From Jayski's:

Parker in an Evernham car at the Rock: BGN driver Hank Parker Jr. is set to make his Winston Cup debut in a third car for Ray Evernham in the Pop Secret 400 at Rockingham in two weeks. That has many in the garage wondering if Parker is being auditioned to replace Casey Atwood, who now drives the #7 Dodge, co-owned by Evernham and Jim Smith. For months there has been speculation that Atwood, who once was billed as the driver of the future for Evernham, is losing his job at the end of the season. Evernham declined to elaborate on Atwood's status, but he has said recently that Atwood has until the end of the season to improve his performance.(Atlanta Journal-Constitution), Parker is also rumored to be in the #49 BAM Racing Dodge in 2003.(10-19-2002)

If Everham never wins another race again it will be too soon.

Bastard.

It also seems awfully foolish to replace one inexperienced driver with another even less so.

I think that Evernham needs to rethink his position on Casey. I don't think he gave him a fair chance. I don't see where Parker is significantly better than Atwood. He might to the same thing to Parker that he's doing to Atwood. Just a thought. Is Evernham under that much pressure from the Chrysler bosses to produce? Another thought, If Parker goes to BAM, his carrer will go BAM. That is a carrer ending move.

One popular theory had it that Parker would eventually go to DEI, with his buddy, Dale Jr.

I'm still livid over the shafting Casey got at the end of last year. Now, he may get it again!

Surely, Hank Jr. would be wise enough to see this is not a good move. But, then, the mystique of Evernham. *sigh*

I hope Atwood gets as far away from Evernham as soon as possible. The talent is there but the team is not. Man he needs to go back to the Busch series and start over with a good team like Roush Racing.

Casey is a very young man......Evernham is not going to ruin his career! I believe Casey would be very wise to go back to Busch for another year or two.......then move to a good Winston Cup team. He's a hell of a driver who was inticed to the "big time" much too soon.......time to take a step back and concentrate on his future. He'll be fine whatever he does.:D I just believe he'll get where he wants to be quicker if he steps back for a bit.

Hank, on the other hand, is not quite the driver that Casey is. I really like the kid.......mostly because I used to watch his dad's fishing shows (I even remember one show where Hank Sr took him and his sister fishing......a nice, inspiring show!:) ). That being said, he just isn't the driver many thought he would be. I'm sure he can (and will) improve......but, in my opinion, Hank isn't ready for Cup. No matter what team he might sign on to.:)

:D Ray replaced Casey with Jerry. And he hasn't done any better than Casey did last year and Casey was a rookie. I heard a romur that Atwood might go to the 25 car. He couldn't do much worst that the 7.

I like Atwood a lot. Maybe going back to Busch is the best thing for him, especially if he gets a good ride. Let him romp and stomp there for awhile, and someone like Yates, Roush, Hendrick or Gibbs will bring him back.

Ray can build a race team, but I don't know what he's been thinking with Atwood.

I like Hank But I don't believe he's as good a driver as Cassey

I don't believe the fans have enough info as to why Cassey hasn't preformed as Ray thinks he should.
Jamie didn't make it any easier for Cassey last week either.

I like to see the young drivers get a chance

It really is a shame for Casey. He was pulling it together last year and now he might not even have a ride. While I am a fan of Hank's, in that #7 car I don't think he will do much better than Casey. That car hasn't had any luck in a long time. Hopefully, Everham gets smart. If he doesn't Elliot might be the next to go. :p
