On this holiest of race days, the penultimate event of the annual sports calendar, I wish everyone well, and hope your favorite finishes one spot behind mine! (Unless yer a Joonyer fan...then I hope he finishes 41 spots behind my guy...)

You can keep your silly Super Bowl. You can have your little World Series. You can have all the Daytona 500s and Indy 500s you want. You can stick your exalted Final Four where the sun doesn't shine. Gimme my Southern 500 ANY DAY over the lot of them combined.

Too bad TPTB pulled the plug on it. They'll regret this day. After all, L.A. can't even keep an NFL team, how do you expect to keep two "redneck" NASCAR races? They don't make enough wine and cheese to keep 'em coming.

Well breakfast is almost ready and working on my 5th cup of coffee and the final Southern 500 is about ready to begin! If yesterday's Busch is any indication today's race just may be a bit better than it has been for the last couple of years!! :beerbang: That would be nice for the last running of the Southern 500! :)

Okay, could someone please take this rain away??? It has been raining for two straight days, and I believe that's enough!!! I believe that the cooler weather has come to stay, but I could do without this darn rain! Hope everyone has a great day. :)
