HS, If you wouldn't mind, could you please post a shortened version of Dover history from the past 5 years, PLEASE:lips::) PURRRRRRRR

History of Dover will be coming up this week...might cover a little more than 5 years though.:)

Dover will forever be linked in my memory to one driver. One of the best dirt drivers to ever live. Jody Ridley got his only WC win in Junie's ride at Dover. I got to see him on dirt maybe half a dozen times, and I'll never forget it. My God almighty that man could drive.

TWF interesting post.

Some years back at a track not far from my house Jody tutored a young hopeful in the art of driving the dirt and later the short asphalts as well. This young driver won his very first race on that track nearby. Had two brothers and came from up the road a ways. The Elliott brothers it was.:)

Yeah, Jody helped the Elliotts out some in the early years. Very few people I have ever seen could put a dirt car around a track like Jody Ridley could. I remember him and the rest of what we called the Georgia Boys used to come up for the big $ races. Buck Simmons, Charlie Hughes, Doug Kennemer, and Jody Ridley if you were lucky. Put those guys on 3/8 mile Bristol-type dirt track with L.D. Ottinger, H.E. Vineyard, Herman Goddard, Buddy Rogers, and Little Bill Corum and you had yourself one helluva Saturday night!

Great work on the history threads, I look forward to them every week:D
