I am not a fan of Harvick but I do believe that I agree with him on the drug testing.

Harvick calls for NASCAR drug tests

With Craftsman Truck Series driver Aaron Fike on NASCAR suspension after being arrested on drug charges last week, Kevin Harvick said Friday he thinks stock-car racing needs random testing of its competitors.

"Every driver and every national series should be drug tested a couple times a year randomly regardless of who you are, what you're doing," Harvick said. "I think we owe it to the sponsors and the fans to 100 percent know that this is a clean environment. ...Shame on NASCAR for not policing our garage better than they police it right now."

NASCAR has a substance abuse policy that allows anyone with a competitor's license to be tested upon "reasonable suspicion."

"I don't think it's necessarily a problem," Harvick said. "...I just think it would be good for the sport if they just cleared the air and there was never any speculation about it whatsoever."

Rumor is Mark Martin is retiring because he's afraid Nascar will find out he's been on steroids for years.... got'cha...

Actually, I agree with Harvick.

A riduculous thought, at best :D I know you're kidding about that.
I agree, too, this is a sport that NEEDS to enforce a zero-tolerance policy. Lives are seriously in jeopardy, in this sport, if a driver is under the influence of or compromised in any way by a drug or any other condition that would put his/her fellow competitors in harm's way.

I agree with the drug testing policy. It Seems stewart hasn't been taking his happy pills lately and we need to fix that.

If NASCAR is going to do it they should simply raise the entry fee to pay for any testing..
Betsy;)

That's a good idea. It's in the best interest of all parties to have testing. The danger factor to pit crews and other drivers is high. If you'r impared, a 3800 pound stockcar is a weapon.

If you're clean, you havce nothing to worry about. If you're not....get help.

Even though most of them are only 3500 lbs, unless they have Stewart in them.

Maybe we should start having random drug tests for our posters. I really worry about some of them...

Well, if iced tea is a prohibited substance --- I'm in TROUBLE !

I agree with Kevin. Random drug tests shouldn't be a problem with anyone who wants a clean sport.
