Harvick leaving RCR?????

Maybe he got tired of stopping for gas and having that snotty woman asking him if he is filling up with nitrogen enriched gasoline.

Now he can fill up with BK burgers.

That don't really surprise me the two have been buddies for a long time. Kevin sure isn't doing anything at Childress this year. IMHO that would be a good fit for him. :beerbang:

DeLana Harvick would be the hottest commodity of the pair. She is one business savvy lady.

Harvick could be using this as a negotiating tactic.
I can't imagine Harvick wanting to stay, with the way RCR as a whole is performing. And when they do perform this badly, they do so for 3 or 4 years before they get hot again... Remember when RCR sucked in 2002, 2004 and 2005?

I dunno. Richard turned his 1992 disaster around the next season Though, in 1992/93 he had only one team? But, overall, I agree with your premise.

According to a report on SI.com, Harvick would like to move to Stewart-Haas Racing and take his primary sponsor, Shell/Pennzoil, with him. The report said Shell's contract expires after this season, but multiple sources told ESPN.com the deal runs through 2010.

Sources added that it is unlikely RCR owner Richard Childress would let both the driver and sponsor go, particularly in today's economic climate.

The way the Stewart Haas cars are running, I don't think Smoke's worried too much about finding sponsors.

RCR denies it.

“Richard Childress Racing has a multi-year contract with Shell-Pennzoil that includes the 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season. Shell-Pennzoil remains a great partner for RCR and Kevin Harvick as well as our sport overall. RCR also has a multi-year contract with Kevin Harvick that includes the 2010 season. That said, Shell will be the sponsor and Kevin will be the driver of RCR’s No. 29 Shell-Pennzoil Chevrolet Impala SS in 2010.”

The United States Army is doing 23 races on the #39 and is an associate sponsor on the rest of the races, which Haas Automation is picking up. It aint hurting for sponsorship.

type size: + -Kevin Harvick is under contract with Richard Childress Racing for one more season, and the team expects him to drive the No. 29 in 2010.

RCR released a statement Wednesday responding to a report on SI.com that Harvick wanted out of his deal and was hopeful of moving to Stewart-Hass Racing.

Richard Childress says RCR has a multi-year contract with Harvick and sponsor Shell-Pennzoil. Childress says "Shell will be the sponsor and Kevin will be the driver of RCR's No. 29 Shell-Pennzoil Chevrolet Impala SS in 2010."

Harvick is 25th in the point standing this season. He hasn't won a Cup race since the 2007 Daytona 500.

I wonder if this is Harvicks way of saying either he goes or I go, I honestly believe that no matter how prepared they thought they were going to 4 teams has not worked out too well. Instead of elevating the first 3 it's actually brought all of them down. I also think they need the to do something with their engines, there is no reason for them to qualify as bad as they seem to do every week.
