Harvick's motorhome driver ?

Apple don't fall far from the tree looks like.

WTF is Brad Teague doing being involved in an "altercation"? What is he, 75 now? I remember watching him when I was like 5 years old.

Ole Brad has been around awhile and he is fifty-five or six.

What little I saw of the race, they had a caution with forty laps left and he was in 23rd place. Next thing I know he is 30th or something like that and according to the paper dropped out due to handling.

Brad is a tough old bird and he can handle a race car, especially on tracks like Dover and Bristol and has always managed to stay out of the way. That is why the curiousity what the deal is,was.

I read this on another board last week;

From Jim Utter of That's Racin.com:

CONCORD, N.C. - A scuffle broke out on pit road following Saturday's Carquest 300 NASCAR Busch Series race at Lowe's Motor Speedway, involving driver Brad Teague and James Caldwell, who works for driver Kevin Harvick.
According to witnesses, an angry Teague approached Harvick, who was sitting on the pit road wall, to complain about Harvick directing an obscene gesture toward him during the race.

Harvick listened and after telling Teague to leave, threw water in his direction. Teague became incensed and moved toward Harvick, but instead ran into Caldwell, knocking him to the ground while throwing punches, witnesses said. Teague was then pulled away from Caldwell and left the area.

Busch Series spokesman Rick Houston said officials were aware of the incident and that it was under investigation.

That's all I know though, just this was posted.

Ya got to love this biz......
I am a Harvick fan, so I can post this... This is going to be a future penalty.. I can see it now

Harvick.. I saw you spitting on the side walk... You are being fined $5000 for violation under Section 12-4-A of the NASCAR Busch Series Rule Book (Actions detrimental to stock car racing.)

How far is NASCAR going to go? This is silly! So a couple of people had a fight... Who cares...

I'm surprised he wasn't fined or put on probation. He did throw water at the guy.

James Caldwell is Harvick's personal assistant and he is a good friend to me. Some of you may remember him from the 1st Nascar 360 episode.......... he was driving Kevin and DeLana out of Rockingham after the race.

Knowing James, he wouldn't do anything to hurt anyone unless he was provoked.

I haven't talked to him about it yet and may not even bother to do so. I'm sure he had good reason to be involved.

They are beginning to issue these penalities like it is hockey and not auto racing.

Also, why wasn't Teague suspended? Spencer was for punching Busch?

So you get fliped off. So big deal. People get the bird shot at them all the time on the track. Ask Rusty  But he didn't confront Tony.

The only real reason Teaque got ticked was cause
when Kevin threw the water, Teaque realized he wasn't
sanforized and he shrunk down to a two-footer. That is really why he was angry!!!

:D

Only to a select, certain few. [/b][/quote]
Been that way for a long long time.

One example that sticks out in my head is when Harvick had to sit out a race. How many other drivers have done the same, (a few drivers have done it more than once) and only get "probation"? And while they are on "probation", they do something again, only to have the"probation" extended....

But we all know how NASCAR is with the rules....

Amazing how Nascar seems to penalize drivers more for their off-track actions than on-track. I guess detremental to stock car racing means more than detremental to stock car racers life.

If it was an incident on pit road involving the motorcoach driver, someone should explain to him that there's no room for a motorcoach on pit road. :)

;) ;)

Teague knocked Caldwell to the ground and was still throwing punches. He couldn't have shrunk that much. ;)

As far as extending the penalties like it is hockey, NASCAR is on the right track. The physical actions in hockey do not reflect the image or sportsmanship NASCAR is trying to portray. NASCAR is wise in keeping a lid on this type of altercation.
Teague has been involved in both Busch and NEXTEL racing since the early eighties and to the best of my knowledge, never been involved in any questionable situation before.

Harvick just seems to have a way of pizzing people off.

an update from thatsracin.com:

NASCAR Busch Series driver Brad Teague, Jeffrey Smith, motor coach driver for driver Kevin Harvick, and James Caldwell, an employee of Kevin Harvick Inc., were penalized by NASCAR Tuesday for their involvement in a pit road altercation following the May 29 race at Lowe's Motor Speedway in Concord, N.C.
Teague and Smith each were fined $2,500 and placed on probation until Dec. 31 for their involvement in the incident that occurred on pit road following the race.

Caldwell was suspended until July 21 in addition to being fined $2,500 and placed on probation until Dec. 31.

All three were penalized for their involvement in a pushing and shoving match on pit road. Teague triggered the confrontation by tracking Harvick down on pit road after the race.

Busch Series director Brian DeHart said Caldwell's involvement demanded a stiffer penalty.

"The altercation was subsiding and it was evident in the videotape of the incident that (Caldwell) became aggressive at that stage, pushing and knocking Teague to the ground," DeHart said.
