Thanks folks! I appreciate everyone's concern.
It started raining in the Wilmington area around 2 PM and the stronger wind and rain came in around 6 PM. So far, the highest wind recorded in this area was 49 and Dover got about a 55. The rain comes in bands but it really isn't that bad. Something like a tropical rainstorm in Florida.
We parked all of the trucks along side each other in the motel parking lot. I am talking about the 53' display units...... 2 for Army, 1 Viagra, 1 Stacker2 and another supply truck. My showcar rig is alongside the Viagra show rig. Fortunately we have a large lot here so we are able to protect the sides of the rigs by lining them up like they do in the garage area.
Spent the day in the motel other than going out for lunch with some of the other folks. There are some localized parties going on in various hotel rooms. Even had a chance to see one of the Busch drivers in the elevator. He was enroute to joining one of the informal parties that was being held in an associates room.
I look for this storm to blow out rather quickly. I'll be looking to get my rig to the track tomorrow and then I guess I'll be helping our group with setting up some of the displays, seeing that I don't have any shows tomorrow.
I look for Saturday and Sunday to be days with nice racing weather. I'm supposed to do a pre-race parade lap in the showcar around 11 AM on Sunday and then I pack up and either head home for one night or just go on to Talladega.
Anyway, everything looks like it will be OK here. Don't know how much standing water they may have at Dover Downs but I guess we will find out tomorrow.
