Ken Shrader is going to attempt to qualify for Martinsvilole and Talladega......unfortunately its in the 26 -_-

..he's alsso doing double duty in KHI 2 truck at Talladega

I've missed seeing Kenny in Cup even tho I know he has stayed busy racin anything with wheels

from Jayski...

•Schrader to run a couple Cup races: Ken Schrader will attempt to qualify for the Sprint Cup Races at Martinsville and Talledega in the #26 Ford and will also do double duty at Talledega by driving the Harvick #2 truck.(Schrader Racing Facebook)(10-13-2010)

I always liked Kenny, but he seems to be a driver who is good at every type of driving, just not great. I wish him the best in his endeavor.

You're old and washed up Kenny but good luck.

I really dont know what to say to that ,....how to respond?

I listen to a lot of *****in on this and many other sites and a lot of hate.
Kenny may be growing long in the tooth but one thing Kenny will NEVER be,.... is washed up. He gets respect everywhere he goes and by everyone for his love and his skill at racing.

For some reason I find this post ,...after ALL the crap I've read, to be the most disrepectful,.... to one of the people most undeserving of disrespect

How is wishing him good luck be disrespectful?

Like I said, I like Kenny, but maybe he spread himself too wide. I know people here have slammed Morgan, but let's compare Morgan's NASCAR carreer with Kenny's. Cup wins, Shepheard 4, Schrader 4. Nationwide wins, Shepherd 14, Shrader 2. Truck wins, Shepheard 0, Schrader 1. When you look at just those stats, Morgan seems to have had a better carreer, but if you take into consideration all sorts of racing, it would be clear that Kenny has been more domiinant. The two of them have at least one thing in common, they are racers. At 69, Morgan is still out there doing what he loves best. I wonder if Kenny will be doing that at 69?

Kenny knows where he came from and hasnt forgotten over the years. I met him at a dirt race a couple years ago. I was checking some stuff out on his car and most guys would run you off he came over and was willing to answer any questions i had and we just shot the **** for a while till it was time to qualify. I like him just cause he is one of the only true racers we got left. The days of Dick Trickle, AJ Foyt and all the other guys that ran anything are gone.

Bill Jenkins owns the car. Drivers this year have been David Stremme, Boris Said, Jeff Green and Patrick Carpentier.

It will be good to see Kenny back. I like him. He was on trackside one night and they were talking about all the different racing he does and his nascar career. He said he might have had a better career if he had just focused on nascar, but he was able to do what he loved and been able to make a living at it. You can't argue with that.

That's what I'm talking about...Identity, tried to make that point in another thread, but some where it got lost in translation to a few people here. Anyone like me who has been around the sport for almost 50 years, knows what it is like to have guys like Kenny still around. Those guys , though are far and few between now.

That is what makes him a likeable guy and one that I am always happy to see in a winners circle.

No b****ing, no excuses, no whining........ he is honest and down to earth and always tries to make time to chat. A true gentleman racer and what this sport has lost over the years.

And ditto for Dick Trickle too. Haven't heard anything about him since his heart condition a couple of years ago but I did have the pleasure of meeting him at Slinger a few years back and I wish he was still racing.

hearing now that Bill Elliot is in the 26 at Talladega....that sucks for Ken even if he is still in the KHI truck
