What a sweet victory tonight, especially Johnny going 0-5, then Youk gets an insurance run in off of Rivera. Sox should of blown this wide open, but in any event pretty sweet to take 2 out of 3 in NY. Looks like the dark side will be shopping for another left fielder aslo, Godzilla is most likely out the remainder of the season or most of it with a broken wrist. Don't take that the wrong way, i don't like to see anybody get hurt , but this is going to be tough for the Yanks.

Mopardh9 Please post more intelligibly. Is this post about a kids game played by adults?
It seems you even have nicks for the overpaid players. Ho-Hum!
Betsy

Yeh whatever Betsy if you think this is a kids game than think again.

You know Betsy i've let most of your comments slide, but i'll have to slam you on this one. Saying i should post more intelligbly is really uncalled for, so i'm stooping to your level by saying you must be a frustrated YANKEE FAN!!!!

Mopardh9 I apologize If I truly did offend you.. It was my way of saying I am NOT a fan.. Particularly of anyone about to break the Babe's record.
Betsy

Nothing you could say would indeed offend me Betsy.....i have a pretty thick skin when it comes to Baseball. I had to endure 67,75(went to that one,7th game)78(Dent)86(Buckner) and all the 90s,finally they win and i'm living in Colorado Springs at the time...go figure! But i got my championship and if they don't win another one in my lifetime i could careless i got mine! As for Bonds... never liked the guy, ton of talent , but his attitude turned me off to him years ago.

Ah, Betsy? The Sox traded the Babe to those Yankees :( before he made that record.
DUMB MOVE!

Hey DH, remember Piersal and the breakdown? Tony Conigliaro getting beaned?
My Mom brought me to Fenway often in my early years, and I learned how to score a game well before I ever started school.
AND WHEN THE SOX WERE AWAY, THE BRAVES WOULD PLAY! I was crushed when they moved to Milwaukee!

My dad always took me to games, at least twice a year. Shame about Tony C., i only heard stories about the Braves from my dad, i wasn't born when they played in Boston. I do remember George Scott, Mike Andrews, Sony Siebert, Rico Petrocelli, and of couirse Yaz...my idle. Cried when he retired, loved to watch him play that wall, that was when there was so much tradition in baseball. I too used to score every game when i was a kid, always had a hot dog and a bag of peanuts too. I haven't been to Fenway since 91, so it has changed a lot. I'd love to get Green Monster seats that would be awesome! Oh rumor has it that the Sox are going to try to get Dontrel Willis from the Marlins before the yankees do, of course it is just a rumor, but man that would be sweet!

I suppose its nice there are still fans. I used to drive to Atlanta or Baltimore to catch a couple of games a year. I was at the minor league games a lot. Then the strike which took away some of the luster. Then the 2nd strike and I've not been back. Ever. I've found other avenues for my entertainment income.
As to the Sox-Yankees, yeah the Sox has the last one. Their 1st in 87 years. During which time the Yankees have 26...

And, no I'm not a Yankees fan.

bp, most baseball fans became very disillusioned about things after the strikes! I got over it :)
I even met TED WILLIAMS when I was the VP of the Pawtucket Red Sox Fan Club!
Carl Yaz, Freddie Lynn, Carlton Fisk, Rick Burleson, Dwight Evans, Clemens, Mel Parnell, Frank Malzone, Luis Tiant, Jim Rice,
Wade Boggs, Dennis Ekersley, and many more come to mind.

I will always be a baseball fan, just like i will always like Nascar and always come home here to New England. It is in my blood , can't get it out....lol.
