LOS ANGELES -- A Los Angeles Dodgers fan was shot and killed by a San Francisco Giants fan following a dispute in the parking lot after Friday night's game, police said.

"Apparently we have multiple suspects who are Giants fans who got into an argument with a Dodger fan," police spokeswoman Adriana Sanchez said. "One of the suspects shot the Dodger fan and then fled the location."

The victim, who was not identified, was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, Sanchez said. He was shot in the torso about 10 p.m. as people were leaving the game, which the Giants won 6-4.

Police searched the sprawling Dodger Stadium parking lot in the hills north of downtown late into the evening.

OMG, what goes through peoples head that a game is more importatn than a human life.

I wonder if alcohol may have played just a tiny, little part in this

Even so, it is still unbelievable that someone would take another's over soemthing so unimportant.

That's as sad as people getting shot over a pair of shoes, or a parking spot.

Some just have no regard for human life.

4x, I'd be willing to bet alcohol was part of the problem. Doesn't excuse the action, though.

It's a shame tho...but not uncommon...ever seen after a football/soccer match people/fans kill each other over the result. :( People take their sport too seriously, but I could never do that...no matter how much of a fan I am. It's not just related to alcohol...it's just plain overboard fanatism.

There have been incidents of Football fans beating up other Football fans. Never heard one bout Baseball.

What a shame. My condolences to that person's family.

How pitiful! I rarely have heard of any sport without "road Rage" mentality blending in and that's a dang shame'

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Three people have been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a Los Angeles baseball fan after a dispute in the Dodger Stadium parking lot following the game.

Mark Antenorcruz, 25, of Covina, Calif., died shortly before midnight Friday after being shot in the chest as he headed to his car after the Giants beat the Dodgers.

Two men and a woman, were taken into custody after a witness to the shooting followed the suspects' white SUV from the parking lot to get the license number for police, Los Angeles Police Department spokeswoman Lucy Diaz said.

"Fortunately, the witness, a passing motorist, followed the car and reported the information to us," said Diaz. She called the witness's actions "courageous."

Though local media has reported the fracas erupted over team loyalty, Diaz said the cause of the dispute was still under investigation.

"We have no idea of what the motive might be," she said. "What we do know is that there was some sort of dispute."

The death was the second this week at a California baseball stadium. On Wednesday, an apparently drunk baseball fan died after falling from a walkway at the Giants home field, Pacific Bell Park.

The Giants won the National League West division on Wednesday, guaranteeing the team an appearance in the postseason. The Dodgers are still vying for a playoff berth.

Let's hope they reap what they sowed!

The fact that any people over the age of 12 watch professional wrestling is disturbing in and of itself. The fact that presumably grown men would attempt to immitate that trash is rediculous.

This same type of killing has happened between NASCAR fans too.

NASCAR is a type of religion to some. You've been to enough races to know what I am talking about. Some people will do anything they can to be recognized as a supporter of their favorite driver. It is downright scary sometimes.

Yes, I've been to a lot of races, in fact have been victim to verbal abuse & personal property destruction. I hope your not trying to justify these actions of a certain few with your comments?
