I will keep my eyes peeled Guido. Still hopeful me and Dee can meet you in Oxford/Anniston later in the month.
97, I sure do hope so. I'm looking forward to it.

Looks like I'll be leaving for California once I finish that show in Oxford.

Then it will be on to St. Louis for another charity deal. It's going to be a long two and a half weeks but I am looking forward to it. [/b][/quote]
So you don't have to go to Florida, huh! Glad you are getting to go to Cali! 'Specially since that's where ya wanted to go! Have a safe trip, Guido. Again, it was a true pleasure meeting you last week! ;)

Now, as for you, 97..........there are a couple of important folks here in the Lone Star State! Just ask Guido! :P

I thought about going to Toledo via Texas but it would add approximately 1000 miles to my drive!!! :P And Dee would probably kill me.

Did you read QT's post about Texas Trivia?
El Paso is closer to California than to Dallas.
:o

Oh come on!!! <_< Are you serious?
Yep! I'll have to get the exact figures, but..................................

It is 634 miles from El Paso to Dallas. And I couldn't find a city on the Cali. border, but Yuma, AZ is right there (I'm pretty sure it's less than 80 miles from there to Cali. border) and it's only 554 miles from El Paso! (San Diego is only 171 miles from Yuma!)

Maj., I heard that the ferstival in Miami can get a bit rowdy at times. As it turns out, I wouldn't have enough time to make the trip from Al. to Miami and be there at 7AM to set up so they decided that I wasn't going.

Hey, I could do the drive but I would be running on very little sleep and when that happens I tend to get a little short tempered with rowdy folks.

Guess I'll take 20 across the country so I'll wave when I pass thru. ;)

And 97......Maj is right!

Some VERY important folks in Texas! I had the pleasure of meeting some last week. ;)

Maj, a couple of years ago when I was at Phoenix, I left El Paso in the morning and didn't stop for the night until I reached Marshall, Tx. on the eastern border.

That was a long drive for one day. Hard to believe that you can drive all day in one direction and never leave the state.

I have family in Yuma, Az. It is literally 3 city blocks from the Cali. border. You can take 8 west to San Diego and get there in about 3 hours.

That is what I was thinkin, nw. I knew it wasn't very far from Yuma to the Cali. border!

And, Guido, I know exactly what you are talking about. It takes more time just to travel around this great state of Texas than most folks realize! But, there are lots of great places to see when you do! ;)
