Kenny Brack starts 2nd, can he break out of his season long funk and finally win? The 2 teams with the new Chevy engines both struggled in qualifying, how will they do in the race?

I knwo it doe snot make sence but from what I under stand the only car to have the Gen4 Chevy is Buddy Rice. Hornish does nto have it bc the IRL would only let one team use it untill everyteam has one. WHich is at the next race in kentucky. So hopefully at the next IRL race the 2 D&R cars won't be on the bottom of the time charts and AJ Foyt IV will be! :D

Saw this bit at speedwaymedia.com:

Sunday's Indy Racing League IndyCar Series event at Gateway Raceway in Madison Illinois had a strange twist to it. Not the fact that Helio Castroneves, a two-time Indy 500 winner, took the checkered flag for his first win since 2002 in Indy, but that Sam Hornish, Jr. finished eight spots in sixth ahead of Red Bull Cheever Racing driver Buddy Rice.

Rice's team was second in Chevrolet points to Hornish coming into the race so by default his No. 52 race car received the new Gen IV engine from Cosworth. If the engine did its job as it did for Hornish at Michigan (2nd), Rice should've placed higher that Hornish. What happened?

Ok, look at Michigan and look at Gateway. One is a no downforce flat out track, the other uses full downforce and braking. The whole problem with Chevy was that they didnt have as much horse power which would come to be a problem on a superspeedway but not a little bull ring circuit like Gateway.

Next in consideration is that maybe Rice isnt a good short track driver. Who knows. We will all find out how the "Fords" fair at the next race in Kentucky where all the of teams can use the new Gen 4 "Ford" engine.

I say Ford because Ford owns Cosworth who built the Gen 4 for Chevy, who went crying to Ford because they were losers. LOL.

Oech! Kick 'em in the arse while they're down!

Chevy bought the desing and soem of the motors off of Cosworth and I belive they are building the rest themselves. Chevy bought all the rights including the naming of the motor so its a chevy motor. Cosworth and ford both are lettign then badge it as a chevy so its a chevy not a ford. Look for ford to come in in 2 years when the ennine and chaiss contratcs are up.
