News letter from BMS:

I honestly can't remember being as excited prior to a race weekend as I am right now. I also can't remember being quite as busy. In addition to all of our normal race preparation taking place throughout the Speedway grounds, we're giving the half-mile oval itself, quite a bit of attention.

As you know, the Speedway was resurfaced beginning immediately after the Food City 500 and lasting throughout the summer. The project is complete and now we're getting the surface race ready.

Last week included Truck and Busch testing, and we hosted a 150-lap UARA Late Model Series race over the weekend, as we continue to get plenty of rubber put down on the new concrete.

On Friday July 20th, Rusty Wallace dropped in unexpectedly and took his fair share of laps around the track in the BMS pace car (by the way, I'm sending him a bill for the right side tires). Rusty said he retired a couple of years too soon, and that the resurfacing job was the best he'd ever seen. The Truck and Busch guys gave the track positive reviews and truthfully, we can't wait for you to get here so we can do some real racin'.

As usual, it's time to start crankin' out the August race week news as we want you to be aware of all the on-track and off-track action that makes Bristol the experience that it is.

Remember, you can always unsubscribe if you desire, but we want to keep you up to speed as NASCAR fans' most popular race quickly approaches.

Ready for racin',

BMS President & General Manager
