Hello Fall...

Yeah, it's the annual hunt for warm clothing for the first cold spell of the year. You'd think after 40+ years in this place I'd be a little better prepared. Warming my hands over the toaster while waiting for my bagel is something I hadn't done in a long while either.

I still love the fall though. I'd much rather put on an extra layer of clothes than sweat my ass off. This is just much more comfortable.

Went to work in my usual summer shorts today. Good thing I brought my light jacket. By 6:00, I had wished that I had put my long pants on. Guess I'd better dig out the winter garb...but still hang on to the summer stuff.

57 degrees this morning on way to the track.

Last time Texas saw a temperature in the 50's, ....I can't remember back that far.

Crazy weather up here. Last week at Loudon, it was unseasonably warm, which is not the norm for late Sept.Even turned the A/C on in the camper. Sat. & sun. races were sweaty hot!!
Today, after a brief deluge, the sun is out and it's 70 already. That's ok, good day to clean the woodstove pipe and put yard things away for winter.
Got one more weekend of racing to go to at Thompson Speedway in Ct. later this month, and then pickle the camper for winter.
3 cords of wood ready to burn, full propane tank, full grill tanks, plenty of canned goods in the cellar, and a 40 year old Ariens Sno Throw machine full of gas and Sta-bil,bring on winter. Just one day closer to Daytona!
