Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Kelley Earnhardt Elledge said they've both turned to Rick Hendrick for advice many times, especially since their father's death. But business wasn't on Elledge's mind this March when she had surgery after a cancer scare. "I called on Rick to help me find a doctor and he was just incredible," Elledge said. "The day of my surgery, he set up a private room for my family to be in and he came by the hospital to visit and make sure they were taking care of us. He took time out for me, and I shouldn't have been very high on his list. He's just that kind of person."

Now see you shouldn't go around spreading that about Rick. You have to consider all the HMS haters and their viewpoint that he is the devil incarnate...

Y'know ... despite all the fan rhetoric, I'd wager that most of the older teams have good relations. When you're traveling together all the time, eventually you all start to have stuff in common. When you're away from home, the guys in the next trailer are your neighbours. I mean, honestly, how often have you seen members of another team hop the wall to help push a disabled car out of harm's way? Or run to help wrench on a car that's got a chance to get back in the race if their own car's out of it?

All the feuds and such make good TV, but I don't believe they hold much water.

I totally agree here it prety much is i'll help you this week and next week its' your turn. All teams know each other in some way, some are closer than others, on the track that might not hold as much water, but i really think most of Nascar is a lot closer than we think.

Except for Roush, I'd say most of the owners, drivers, etc. get along pretty well with each other. It's the fans that make things out to be something they are not. Happens on the local level too.

Or jump in a car that the crew has ready to return to the race if the driver has already left the track...
