CHARLOTTE, N.C., February 13, 2012 - HendrickCars.com will sponsor three NASCAR teams in select races in early 2012. The sponsorships will promote the new-look retail automotive website, which re-launched Feb. 1, and coincide with the HendrickCars.com "2012 Indy Dream Weekend" sweepstakes.

The program will kick off during Speedweeks in Daytona Beach, Fla., with primary sponsorship of Phoenix Racing and 2004 NASCAR Sprint Cup champion Kurt Busch in the Feb. 25 Nationwide Series race and Feb. 26 Daytona 500. It will continue with primary sponsorship of JR Motorsports and driver Cole Whitt in the March 17 Nationwide event at Bristol, Tenn.

In addition, HendrickCars.com will be a major associate sponsor of the Richard Childress Racing No. 33 Chevrolet with driver Elliott Sadler in NASCAR's biggest race, the Daytona 500.

"Last year's Daytona 500 broadcast alone averaged more than 15 million viewers, and we expect 2012 will be even stronger," said Rick Hendrick, Chairman of Hendrick Automotive Group, which owns HendrickCars.com. "Combined with our sponsorship in the Nationwide Series, that's tens of millions of people seeing our brand, hearing our message and then visiting HendrickCars.com. We wanted to showcase the new site, and there's no more effective marketing tool than NASCAR."

Seem's odd HendrickCars.com would sponsor Non-Hendricks cars? Must be a last minute deal and all the Hendrick cars already had commited sponsorship packages?

Very odd, almost like a conflict of interest, but the end result Hendrick gets his name out there even more.

Rick gets more face just by doing it then what is on the car.

I don't see a problem here .Hendrick bought some pretty high profile ad space for one race deals.Kurt and Elliott will do real well in the 500 and garner a lot of tv time. He ,no doubt , paid a heck of a lot less for the space then he charges for the space on his own cars (which was already sold anyway).I don't know about the Cole Whitt space in the Nationwide race , not as high profile as the other two,but likely didn't cost as much either.Hendrick doesn't call the shots on these race cars, nor does he need that headache,he's just an advertiser.

In a totally seperate story, Jack Rousch will be appearing nude in the next Danica GODADDY commercial. WIERD huh?

If the 51 or 33 take bring out the caution, and a HMS car wins the race because of it, or it bunches up the field for a restart and and HMS car wins it, it will be Daytona GATE 2012.

I agree, there's no problem. It's not like he's bribing a Honda executive or getting any kickbacks. Oh, wait...o_O
