after this season........yeah I think you are right 66mustang.........

Looks good, but it needs to be a little more red.........and somehow there's been a misspelling! Since when did Chevy start with a "D"?:)

Y'all are wrong....

DEI sweepin the top three.... in no particular order

I think we are trying to say what we would want, not what will really happen. I know I won't watch another restrictor plate race if a DEI car wins.

So you are going to miss three races next season and then four races every season after?:D Wow, what if they plate New Hampshire? That's six races a year you will miss from now on!!:(

Not me.......I'm going to watch them all!!:)

with this disapointing year for many teams i know a lot will want a great fresh start for 2003

I think #48 will start his second season with a win! Then the DEI folk can round out the next 3 spots:D

He never has had a win at Daytona, but keeps getting closer.

Though I'd be more concerned about his teammate, Ryan Newman, stealing the Daytona 500 win.

They are kinda fun to watch but I don't want to see all those cars crash. It is getting to be the same story every restrictor race - the big one and a DEI car wins. I can relate it to F1...

Jeff Gordon is going to win the Daytona 500. He looked like the only car that could have beating DEI at Dega a month ago (dang mechanical faliure) and probably will be the only car that can beat them again at Daytona.

The big one does not happen as much as it does happen.....actually, I think there have been more not happens that did happens!:) I don't have the stats but I remember a lot of caution free races at Daytona and Talladega. Last October was a caution free race if I remember correctly. I can't say plate tracks are my favorite.....but then niether are road courses. I watch and enjoy them anyway! And if Jr wins, all the better!!:D

Nah Johnny will get the new slick GP its first win in its first race!! Well Point race!!

Who will be driving the #2 car when it wins Daytona 2003?

Because Rusty is not a superspeedway kinda guy.

The #8 and #20 will run together again and will finish first and second. Just the way it should be. :p

personally, I think a ford or dodge team is gonna win it...I think chevy and pontiac are gonna be a little behind because dodge and ford have had some time with this body style and next year will be the first year that chevy and pontiac race the "intrepitaurus", but we'll see...Jr seemed happy with it at the talladega test....

How can you say that Rusty will win next year's Daytona 500 when he can't even win a race this year?:p He might not ever win again!:lol2:

Typical BC24 response, tell me, is it hard to type with your head up your .... sorry, you probaly wouldn't understand it anyhow. by the way, Gordon wouldn't even have that Bristol win if Nemechek hadn't been holding Rusty up. So pipe down

Well, well, well...spoken like a true champion wanna be!!

well well well, another annoying Gordon Fan....let me guess, next your gonna start ranting and raving how Rusty only has one championship and Gordon has 4. Then your gonna start blabbing how Rusty is always whinning, and, correct me if I'm wrong, you'll finish with how Rusty is a washed never was. Heard it all before so don't bother. It would appear that you are in the same class (or lack thereof) so I'll put you where he has been placed....right smack dab in the the middle of my ignore list

Well actually mlitefan01 my response was to someone telling me to pipe down. So you see, you drew first blood.

But no, I was not gonna mention anything you stated above. I am married to a Rusty fan and actually, I like Rusty. I understand everything a Rusty fan goes through because I see it everyday.

Rusty is actually a very good driver and a nice person. To be as high in points as Rusty is without a win speaks very high of Rusty, IMO.

So if you want to call me "another annoying Gordon fan", be my guest. I don't start trouble, I just react to someone who pushes me first.

If my earlier post offended you, I apologize to you. But I don't appreciate being told to pipe down when all I did was respond to this tread just like many other people did. No harm...no foul!!

He might not say anything but I will. Rusty wouldn't have won Bristol if Nemechek wouldn't have been there. If you would take off those #2 glasses that you watch the races with you would have noticed that Nemechek didn't hold up Rusty any more than any other driver would have in the same situation. Jeff had the fastest car during that part of the race and he used it to get a win. If you didn't notice but after he passed Rusty then he quickly pulled away from him. I shouldn't have to argue over something that happened months ago but since you brought it up I did.

And just for the record, Rusty is a has been, a once was and a never gonna be again.:p

If you go back and look at my post you will see that I was speaking to BC24 when you jumped in with your 2 cents. I have no problem most Gordon fans, but BC24 has rubbed me the wrong way on several occasions, Until now I haven't had the pleasure of dealing with you. I never in fact told you to pipe down and you response pushed the wrong button with me. Hopefully this straightens things out.

Dude, I don't even remember having a conversation with you until now. So I'm not sure where you get that I have rubbed you the wrong way or whatever you want to call it. I think you have me confused with somebody else. Normally I don't argue with people on here. That's not why I'm here.

OK, friends, let's calm down here. This seems to have gotten way too personal.

We all have our hopes for our drivers starting a new season at Daytona. It's a shame that there can't be 43 winners of the 500, but that's the way it is.

Why don't we just wish all of them the very best of luck, and leave it at that.

I did indeed go back and read your post and can see where you were talking to BC24. But I took it as being directed at Gordon fans in general. I'm not here to rub anybody the wrong way. I appreciate your opinions. There is no problem here. Everything is straightened out.

Anyway...

I'm gonna stick my neck out here and say it will be either Bill Elliott or Johnny Benson. Depending on off season rules tweaking.

I dont think that picking DEI is entirely what id like to see. I think they have a great chance. They have won 3 of the last 4 races at talladega and 3 of the last 4 races in Daytona. Mikey even won a qualfying race without a DEI drafting parter too.

Hey Rustymillertime......two words....

yea right......

two more......

keep dreaming......

two more.....

good luck......

let's see........hmmmmm........Daytona seems to be bad luck......do u really want your favorite driver to win??

Good point Lcky

Last time a Daytona 500 winner was WC champ was Jeff back in 1997 I think and before that may go all the way to 1979 and Richard Petty.

Maybe based on this years results, finishing last might be the ticket!:D
