CONCORD, N.C. -- Few Winston Cup drivers are as celebrated as Jeff Gordon -- try naming another one who has garnered mention in a chart-topping rap ditty -- so he's all too accustomed to being recognized in a crowd.

In America, sure. But overseas?
"It was funny. I was standing there in the hotel lobby, and there was a lady from Argentina, and her and her son were just flipping totally out," Gordon said Wednesday between takes during a DuPont commercial shoot in downtown Charlotte.
"They'd been to Daytona and Indianapolis and were just huge fans, so that was a trip. But that's very unusual. Usually, people don't have a clue unless it's an American tourist that happens to be over there."
"Over there" is in Spain, where Gordon teamed up with Hendrick Motorsports teammate Jimmie Johnson and World Super Bike champion Colin Edwards earlier this month to win the Nation's Cup, making them the first American trio in history to achieve the feat.
