Hey BobbyFord...

It sucks where the fire is, but other than that its perfect. It's California. The weather is always perfect there, everyone knows that...

The Ventura County fire is about 35-40 miles from here. It's a little gusty right now. 7,000 acres, so far on this one.
There's another fire 115 miles to the east of here, 3,000 acres, 40% contained.
About 86 degrees here now. The weather is awesome!

the weather here sucks 80's yesterday highs of 40's today.
Then back to 80's tomorrow???

Those firefighters have some serious stones. The Ventura fire is currently burning in an agricultural area where several fertilizer tanks are currently engulfed. Fire personnel pulled back and is letting them burn.
These guys EARN their money.

Hats off to those brave individuals. That's crazy!

A lot of TV coverage on this Ventura fire. 10 square miles burned, 850 fire personnel on the ground, 5 dozers, 96 engines, 9 choppers including S-64 Skycranes and some fixed-wing aircraft. Two more miles and it will make it to the Pacific Ocean.
This is a lot of burn area in the 12 hours since it started. 10% containment. I don't believe there have been any residential structures lost in this fire but there were three homes lost in the Banning fire to the east.

That fire in Ventura is nasty looking. Saw a pic of the fire almost on the beach.
Sorry for the people who are losing houses. Pray that all the firefighters stay safe. They have more courage than most.

Grab your stuff and go fishing somewhere, don't want to lose ya.
Yeah, that thing is going in the opposite direction. Fortunately, the wind is calmer than yesterday and the temp is supposed to get cooler, even possible drizzle on Monday.

I hope the freakin bottom falls out and drowns out all of that crap for yall.

Damn good, hope the rain keeps up long enough to douse everything.

How many on this thread have ever been a volunteer fire fighter or rescue squad member? Quite honestly, it is hard to comprehend the time, training and difficulties faced by those who not only volunteer but spend much of their personal time raising funds for those organizations.
