Hey Buck...

Fergy, it was great as things go. The Mrs and I didn't go to the area where the drivers were. We've done that before and it's nothing but a zoo. We checked out the cars, took some pics and then toured another area where there were booths etc. We toured the souvineer haulers but because it was so cold, we didn't stay out there very long. At this time of the year, with so many team changes and such, the haulers aren't very well stocked. There was probably only 10 or 12 haulers there anyway. We actually spent the most time chit chatting with one of our local drivers. He is the Mrs favorite and so she was tickled to chat with him. We certainly learned a lot from him about his series. BTW, since you are an Earnhardt fan, you might be interested in one of his stories. Tim, the driver is only 31 and is a four time track champ. Anyway, he lives west of our city and they used to race at North Wilkesboro the same weekend as the Cup cars. He was telling us that back then, they used to introduce the drivers up on a truck bed (they still do at some tracks) and they would introduce the modified drivers the same time they would the cuppers. When Tim was introduced, there were the normal boos from the crowd. This was early in Tim's carreer and it bothered him. Not long after he got off the stage, Dale Earnhardt walked over to him, put his hand on Tim's shoulder and said to him, "I don't know what you've been doing, but keep it up." That made Tim feel better.

If you check out some of my posts, you can see some of the pics I took at the Preview. :)
