Just wanted to say Hello Everyone!

Yep, a new guy. I am a US Air Force Firefighter stationed in Japan. I have recently returned from 5 months in Kandahar, Afghanistan supporting Operation ENDURING FREEDOM. After browsing these boards a bit I would like to thank everyone for their support of the troops.

See you all around!

:salute:

Thanks everyone for your kind welcome! Since I am in the same time zone as Tokyo you probably won't catch me on the boards very much, but I will be here. That also means that the races come on here at 2 AM or so. But I think I am the only person that can say they watched Tony Stewart win the cup sitting in a tent in Kandahar!

Been here on Okinawa for just over 4 years and my wife and I (also career Air Force) are heading to mainland Japan this fall for a new assignment. Of my 9 years in all but 2-1/2 have been outside the US. My first assignment was to England, being 70 miles from London was great! Been deployed to Bosnia (in 95, among the first there) Kuwait in 2000 and of course my recent all expenses paid getaway to Afghanistan.

By now you figured out that I am a Tony Stewart fan, I hope that you all don't hold that against me too much. Dale Jr and Mark Martin round out my top 3. I have a sentimental attachment to Kyle Petty as I met "The King" when I was about 5 and he put me in one of his display cars with him at a Publix in Daytona Beach during the 1976 Firecracker 400. My grandparents lived close enough to the track that you could hear the cars at the house.

:salute:

Welcome, firedawg. Always happy to have a Tony the Tiger fan on board.

I happen to think he's pretty good, too. LOL

Very grateful to you and all your buds serving overseas.

Hi firedawg, welcome aboard and thanks for your service. Hope you enjoy yourself!

Welcome! My remarks mirror what everyone else has said, but figured I'd still say hello! hehe.
