#88-Earnhardt Jr. lost and engine midway thru the practice and the team will change engines, then it was mentioned on SPEED's coverage that all the Hendrick Motorsports cars #24-Gordon, #48-Johnson, Earnhardt and #5-Mears will change engines as there is some sort of lifter problem. #66-Riggs team is changing engines, also uses Hendrick engines and the other teams that run Hendrick engines are checking them out: #09-Marlin, #87-Wallace, #70-Mayfield and #78-Nemechek [not changing engines]. Also #07-Bowyer lost an engine and is changing their engine.

didnt they say yota was having that problem too? Or were their problems with the pushrods?

does NASCAR really expect them to run all this practice, qualifying, a 150, and the 500 on one motor to begin with?

then again, i'd be leary about running the 150 and the 500 on the same motor..i hope nascar lets em switch again...?

The only Toyota that had any type of motor problem was the 96 of Yeley..Didn't hear anything else out of the yota camp.

And yes, NASCAR will give them a free engine change if any teams opt for it.

Oh and this doesn't effect how they will start on the 500. Only the duals.

It seems now the motor guys have zeroed in on the lifters as the problem -- a bad batch.

This engine change simply means that they will start at the back for the duels.

All teams will change engines after the duels.

Add Tony to the list of engine changed.

that figures

 that figures ..................now hendrick has engine problems

Jr. has engine problems not Hendrick. Hey Jr. when that little red needle almost goes all the way around, that's bad.

actually, when it passes vertical to the right, it's bad.

race tachs only have 3/4 sweep, and racers typically rotate the gauges so that optimal condition is all needles vertical. This is so they can read all the gauges in one quick glance.

One of the broadcast team said that Toyo had lost three motor and Mikey commented that the ToYo guys were all over it, I recall it to was a lifter flakeing problem. Duane

I was just being a smart ass. But thanks for pointing that out mudslinger47.
