Home Depot doesn't plan to increase its commitment to NASCAR, even though the organization is seeking a new title sponsor for the Winston Cup Series.

"We enjoy the relationship we have with NASCAR today," said Bob Nardelli, chairman, chief executive and president of Home Depot. "It's at the appropriate level."

Maybe if NASCAR treated their champion with a little more respect during the off-season, HD wouldn't have told them to go piss up a rope.

I don't think they need a series sponser. It may just become the Nascar Major league series,Much like other big money sports.MLB,NFL,NHL.NBA.

I was thinking that too, but buck said that some sports have sponsors in their names like Golf and Tennis.

Tennis and Golf do have sponsors in there names, but they do not have an overall tour sponsor. There sponsor would be the same as say an "Aaron's 312". The sponsor is just for that Race, Golf tournament or tennis tournament. Right now in Golf they do have an extra sponsor for what is called the west coast swing.

If companies don't want to sponsor the entire year, they could possible sponsor the first 10-15 races or some combination.

The times they are a changing,I guess we will see what happens.Maybe after what the Lawyers, and the govt. did to The tobaco buis,Home depot was a afraid they might ban Caulking, and drywall. :D

i think it should be just nascar you are right again Dinoforthe3

See I don't think that would work. So many companies would want 1-race deals and it would be so confusing. I think if Winston leaves, some other sponsor will pick it up in a hurry. Maybe Budweiser or Coca-Cola would do it. McDonald's Cup :D ? I don't think so.
