I guess that the old thread that I had started went by the wayside during the early 2016 racing-forums.com blackout days. Anyhow, some may remember the projects that I posted that we were working on. One of them being a stone wall around the fireplace. Well, my wife wants to do everything in a more rustic look and she always wanted a couple whiskey barrel's to place in that room for that kind of theme. Here's a pic of the weekend's purchase. We bought a couple Jack Daniel's Whiskey Barrel's.

Still working on some wood trim trying to give it a more distressed look. Just doing samples right now until we figure out what the finished product is to be.

Nice thread.
I'm getting ready for summer today by cleaning the deck. The moisture over winter ain't good for it.
We are painting the house also so I want everything to look nice for summer.... No matter how modest this place is.

That's a damn fine noise reducing privacy hedge ya got there. Those are a handful to maintain themselves.

Yeah. I'm pretty happy with it. It's a native called Grisilinia and I just trimmed it last week. I built the deck 7 or 8 years ago so it has grown fairly quickly.

Getting the house painted finally.
The place is 1956 vintage and has been neglected for many years but is scrubbing up fairly good as it has good bones.

It looks great @Clutch As my grandmother would say "It looks comfy cozy and homey". It would really fit in right here on the Florida coast. :beerbang:

Well as much as I may miss the green a little I'm very happy with the result.
These guys have done an awesome job in 6 days and the outside is protected again. We actually love the color.
