Hornaday out at RCR

"Racing at this level is a big business," said Hornaday. "I understand what RCR has to do to enhance its NASCAR Nextel Cup Series efforts. We've had a pretty good run together and the friendships will still go on but business is business."

This leads me to think that it was Childress booting him, which doesn't make a lot of sense.....

Maybe RCR is making a spot for Robby to go to Busch? :XXROFL:

why would robby run busch in childress garbage when he has his own shop?

Doesn't Robby use RCR engines in his Busch cars?
Yeah, but Robby uses his own chassis. Funny enough, Robby has been outperforming the Childress cars in the Busch Series.

"We had two great years with Ron and I wish him the best in the future," said Richard Childress, president and CEO of Richard Childress Racing. "We talked about next season and beyond and felt it was in our best interests to make this announcement now to give him the best chance possible to catch on with another team."

Sure looks like it's RC's decision, but it doesn't make alot of sense to me either.

not all of the engines come from RCR, I think he's getting some Menard's too...I think he won with a Menard's engine? Anyone know?

The original plan was for Robby to run a certain number of races (24?). When he decided to run more races he had to get engines from another supplier (don't remember who) because RCR couldn't supply him engines for the added races becuase they didn't have plans in place for it.

Thats right, he got the additional engines from Menard.

Menard engines suck. Compared to RCR. Sauter has been blowing those Menard engines to pieces this year.

SO who is inline for the 2 car. Clint Bowyer for sure. I think he may also give it back to Sauter because he is still under contract with RCR. Harvick has his own team next year in Busch so he won't be involved. Gordon has his own team as well. May be RC found another rookie from another series.
