I received this today from an email friend and it really touched me.
"Hi everyone. I want you to know that I realize I haven't been real good on keeping in touch like I should be. There have been some things going on that have created some glitches. After yesterday, I feel a need to let you all know with my husband's blessing to tell the tale.
My husband is dying from advanced heart disease along with COPD. We have both had a very hard time coping with this, but saw some light at the end of the tunnel yesterday. Michael's doctor called hospice to help us. Hospice came yesterday and explained all that they would do. By the time the nurse left, Michael and I were stunned at all they would do. At NO cost to us. They will deliver all of the medicines that Michael needs, check on him everyday, deliver any and all medical goods that are needed for him. By the end of the day yesterday, they had delivered the medicine, delivered enough oxygen for Michael to get around outside of the home and a machine in the house that has a long enough line to go anywhere in our house. Today they bring a wheelchair, stuff for the shower and anything else he may need. Again, this is at NO COST to us.
If any of you give to charity, we both would like to ask that you give to Hospice in your community. This is the most wonderful service we have encountered, and just really felt the need to pass this on to you. Thanks for letting me share, and I hope you all have a great day, a wonderful weekend, and a Happy Mother's Day to those of you blessed with children."
For those who receive knowyournascar, you recognise that this was from Sandra's site, but there is a message here for all.
